Pokémon GO Fest 2022 is a two-day global event that takes place on Saturday, June 4, 2022, and Sunday, June 5, 2022, with a bonus Pokémon GO Fest Finale event on Saturday, August 27, 2022.

The Mythical Pokémon Shaymin – the Gratitude Pokémon – makes its Pokémon GO debut during the 2022 GO Fest event. On the second day of the event, a certain mysterious Pokémon will be making its Pokémon GO debut in five-star raids.

As with previous GO Fests, the event will feature rotating habitats, a plethora of rare Unown spawns, Global Challenge Arena, boosted Incense encounters and Special Research quest lines that are exclusive to this event.

Mark your calendars Trainers! Niantic is making this years global GO Fest a special event, with two full days of gameplay, followed by a late summer Finale event.

Tickets

Tickets for Pokémon GO Fest 2022 are available now for US$14.99 and include access to event gameplay on both Saturday and Sunday.

Each event day will feature a different experience—and, in a Pokémon GO Fest first, a special finale event will take place on Saturday, August 27, 2022.

All Trainers who purchase tickets for the global event in June will be granted a ticket for the GO Fest Finale event at no extra charge (August event).

Detailed ticket pricing and availability

  • Pokémon GO Fest 2022 tickets will be available for purchase in the in-game shop for US$14.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency, plus any applicable taxes and fees) until Sunday, June 5, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. local time.
  • Tickets for the Pokémon GO Fest 2022 finale event will be available for purchase in the in-game shop for US$10.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency, plus any applicable taxes and fees).
  • Tickets cannot be purchased with PokéCoins. Tickets to this event are nonrefundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service).

A few days before the event, you’ll receive a medal. When you log in during event hours on Saturday, June 4, 2022, or Sunday, June 5, 2022, you’ll receive access to the Pokémon GO Fest 2022 experience.

Please note: you must log in during event hours on both Saturday and Sunday to claim each day’s Special Research story. After you’ve claimed each Special Research story, you can complete it at any time.

The first day of the event will feature four rotating habitat hours. Different Pokémon will appear during each habitat hour and themed confetti will appear on the map.

For the first time in Pokémon GO, you’ll be able to encounter Shiny Shroomish, Shiny Numel, Shiny Karrablast, Shiny Axew, and Shiny Shelmet, if you’re lucky!

This year’s event is all about Shaymin, the Gratitude Pokémon! Trainers will be tasked with conducting Special Research to learn more about this Mythical Pokémon and will encounter Land Forme Shaymin along the way.

Other rewards include a Shaymin-inspired avatar item and an event-exclusive pose.

Customize your Shaymin Special Research

Trainers will be faced with two important decisions while conducting their Special Research:

Difficulty level

Personalize your event experience! Choose between Relaxed, Standard, and Master difficulty levels for your Special Research. The difficulty level you select will affect which sticker you receive as a reward, but will otherwise not change your Special Research rewards.

Gameplay focus

How do you like to play Pokémon GO? Select the gameplay focus you’d prefer—either Catch, Explore, or Battle—and certain Special Research tasks will change accordingly.

Please note: it won’t be possible to change your selections, so be sure to make your choices carefully!

Make progress on your Elite Collector medal with four Collection Challenges, each themed after a habitat hour.

Global Challenge Arena 🎟️

The Global Challenge Arena makes a return on Saturday!

  • On Saturday, ticket holders will be able to work together to complete a collaborative challenge each hour. If they succeed, they’ll earn a bonus for the remainder of the hour!
  • Check the Today View to keep track of global progress and the contributions of your friends.

Nihilego emerges

Nihilego

Nihilego, the Parasite Pokémon, makes its Pokémon GO debut in five-star raids on Sunday, June 5, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time! Nihilego is a Rock- and Poison-type Pokémon.

A life-form from another world, it was dubbed an Ultra Beast and is thought to produce a strong neurotoxin. Try using some Ground-type Pokémon you catch during Pokémon GO Fest to get an advantage in battle!

Investigate the mysterious Ultra Wormholes and Ultra Beasts with the GO Ultra Recon Squad! All Trainers can complete Special Research tasks to learn more about the Ultra Wormholes appearing around the world.

Ticket holders will have access to another Special Storyline, a repeat of Incense spawns and boosted encounters with Team GO Rocket (with increased rewards).

  • Every Pokémon attracted to Incense on Saturday will be attracted to Incense once again on Sunday during event hours.

Why is Pikachu wearing the Gracidea flower costume?

Gracidea Bouqet

It’s a nod to the main series games. The Gracidea (Japanese: グラシデアのはな Gracidea Flower) is a Key Item introduced in Pokémon Platinum. It is a type of flower that resembles the flowers on Shaymin’s head.

It allows Land Forme Shaymin to change into Sky Forme. Shaymin will be available only in Land Forme during this event.
