Patterns of the Wild Event: Indonesia Exclusive Event

Pokémon GO’s Patterns of the Wild Event takes place on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. local time in Indonesia. The event features a Special Background for Pikachu wearing a batik shirt, along with a slew of exciting Research tasks and encounters with boosted shiny odds!

Patterns of the Wild Event Bonuses

For the first time in Pokémon GO, you’ll be able to encounter Pikachu wearing a batik shirt that can also have a Special Background. That’s not all, as it can also be shiny!

You can encounter this adorable Pikachu as a wild encounter, from Timed Research, and in a surprise snapshot encounter.

Surprise encounters from snapshots

Take a snapshot of one of your own Pokémon during the event for a chance at a surprise encounter with Pikachu wearing a batik shirt. Remember that snapshots of wild Pokémon will not lead to these encounters.

Patterns of the Wild Event Wild Encounters

The following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild, with an increased chance of being shiny. Note that Pikachu wearing a batik shirt may have a Special Background.

Timed Research

Timed Research will run from Monday, September 28, at 6:00 a.m. to Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Completing this Timed Research will earn you the following rewards:

• Encounter with Pikachu wearing a Batik Shirt and having a Special Background
• Encounters with Oddish, Ledyba, and Hoppip
• 1,000 XP
• 1,000 Stardust
• And more

All encounters from the Timed Research can be shiny.

Collection Challenge

A Collection Challenge requiring you to catch event-themed Pokémon will reward you with XP, Stardust, and stickers of Pikachu wearing a batik shirt.
