- Use a Charged TM to teach Ho-Oh the Charged Attack Sacred Fire!
During the event, you can use a Charged TM to teach Ho-Oh the Charged Attack Sacred Fire! You can only teach Ho-Oh Sacred Fire from 2:00 to 5:00 pm local time. You can teach old Ho-Oh’s Sacred Fire.
Sacred Fire is the best Fire-type attack Shadow Ho-Oh can learn and it is absolutely worth it. Here are Sacred Fire stats:
- Trainer Battles: 130 power
- Gyms and raids: 120 power
Shadow Ho-Oh Catch CP and IV
Wit the increase of IV floor, Shadow Ho-Oh can be caught with a minimum of 7/7/7 IVs. That means the following CP ranges apply:
- 2067 CP – 2207 CP with no weather boost
- 2584 CP – 2759 CP with Sunny or Windy weather boost
Tips and Tricks from other Trainers
- You can only Sacred Fire on Shadow Ho-Oh from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm local time in your region. Trying to use a Charged TM outside of that time window will just pick between Brave Bird, Earthquake, Solar Beam and Fire Blast
- Japanese Trainers have reported a 10.5% chance to encounter a Shiny Shadow Ho-Oh. We expect this to be correct, amounting to 1 in 10 Raids being shiny.
- Shadow Ho-Oh Raids are available at every Gym and they last 30 minutes
- Ho-Oh is double weak to Rock, and weak to Electric and Water
- Ho-Oh can use Sacred Fire as a raid boss. Don’t forget to subdue Shadow Ho-Oh once it enrages. You need 8x Purified Gems to subdue.
- Raids don’t drop Charge TMs so use them wisely (The author of this line wasn’t wise and wasted 20 Charged TMs outside of event hour. Ah, the things we do for testing purposes).
- Purifying a Shadow Pokémon removes their special move, so use a TM after purifying if you want a Purified Ho-Oh with Sacred Fire
- The increased IVs from Shadow Raids are 7/7/7, up from previous 6/6/6 floor
- Cutoff time for removing Frustration using charged TMs is 22:00 (local time) today. Frustration can be removed during next event “Steeled Resolve” (starting Tuesday).
