April 2023 Field Research Tasks and Rewards

A complete guide to Pokémon GO’s April 2023 Field Research tasks, rewards and encounters. Includes Pokémon encounters, Mega Energy rewards and Research Breakthrough available during the month of April.

After a delay in any new tasks being reported, it looks like the monthly field research tasks finally started appearing on April 4th. We will update the guide as these are confirmed!

Do note that event-exclusive Field Research will override monthly research tasks during event duration. You can find an overview of April 2023 events here.

All information in this article is for the month of March 2023:

Research Breakthrough Encounter

• From March 1, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT -7) to June 1, 2023, at 1:00 p.m.

During March 2023, Pokémon GO Trainers can earn an encounter with Parasect, Pinsir, Snorlax, Furfrou, Gible and Goomy by completing the seven-day Field Research breakthrough. Complete Field Research tasks during the month of March to unlock one of these encounters.

Field Research Tasks and Rewards

Pokémon encounters from Field Research tasks always feature Level 15 Pokémon, with minimum IVs set to 10/10/10, similar as in Raid or Egg encounters. Field Research encounters are unaffected by the weather.
