Gold Bottle Cap Tier List – What to Max Out?

The recent announcement that we will get a Gold Bottle Cap which can maximise our IVs has got everyone wondering which Pokémon to use it on! Your favourite shiny? That lucky trade that went 98%? A Gigantamax Pokémon or just a Bidoof for funsies? The options are endless but here we will try and guide you towards some of the better options out there that focus on raid and Max Battle meta relevance.

Of course, you can always boost that beloved shiny Psyduck to become a shundo, but if you want your Pokémon to be useful, here are our recommendations, in tier list form.

S Tier

Explanation

S Tier choices are Pokemon that are at the top of their game, these are the best Max Pokemon, Raid attackers and Master League choices available so obviously having maxed out IVs creates a massive advantage in these game modes. 

A Tier

Explanation

A Tier choices are also extremely good options to use your bottle cap on, again they are top tier choices in max battles, raids and master league. If you don’t have any of the S tier options to do then you can’t go wrong with these.

B Tier

Explanation

B Tier choices are also good options to use your bottle cap on, they are regularly used in various battle modes in the game and will be useful for a long time to come.

C Tier

Explanation

C Tier choices are the last remaining options that we would recommend to use your bottle cap on, they aren’t as good as the above tiers but are still very good Pokémon in their own right and you will see some use out of them in various battle modes.
