The following chart shows Stardust and Candy needed to power up Shadow Pokémon from Level 8 to Level 40. Level 8 is the minimum Level you will catch a Shadow Pokémon at, so it doesn’t mean much to include Levels 1-7. For more information read our Complete guide to Shadow Pokémon. The following chart shows Stardust and Candy needed to power up Purified Pokémon from Level 25 to Level 40. Purifying a Shadow Pokémon always gives you a Level 25 Pokémon, so it doesn’t make sense to include lower levels.

XL Candy and Stardust Cost for upgrading Pokémon from Level 41 to Level 50

The following chart shows XL Candy and Stardust power up costs for Pokémon beyond Level 40. You can more about XL Candy in our XL Candy Guide: How to get, Power Up Costs and Mechanics. Level 40+ Pokémon require XL Candy to power up.

You need 296 XL Candy to fully power up a Pokémon to Level 50. Each level has two power ups. You need the same amount of XL Candy for every Pokémon, with the exception of Shadow and Purified Pokémon. Shadow Pokémon require 360 XL Candy and Purified Pokémon 272 XL Candy to fully power up.
