Mega Camerupt is a Fire and Ground type Mega Raid boss. Optimal Raid counters will include powerful Water and Ground types. Keep in mind that Mega Camerupt is double weak to Water type moves, so focus on counters using those attacks.
Depending on your levels and counters, we would recommend 2-5 trainers who are high level, and more if you don’t have optimal teams. This guide will tell you how to beat Mega Camerupt, as well as its optimal stats, moves, and CP range.

How to Get Mega Camerupt
You cannot catch Camerupt in its mega-evolved form from the raid. The mega raid boss is always catchable in its base form, and as such, the CP ranges are for a regular Camerupt.
Camerupt can be caught with the following CP values:
- 1759 CP to 1840 CP, with no weather boost
- 2199 CP to 2300 CP with Sunny weather boost
In order to get Mega Camerupt, you will need 200 Mega Energy for the initial evolution, then 40 Mega Energy to evolve the same Camerupt again in the future. Mega Energy can be obtained via Mega Camerupt Raids, and once you have evolved Mega Camerupt, you can earn 5 Mega Energy per candy while walking it as your buddy. You can walk any Numel or Camerupt to earn Mega Energy, as long as you have previously evolved one to register it to your Mega Pokédex.
Shiny Sprites
Like all Mega Raid Bosses, you can catch the shiny version of Camerupt from a raid, and also in the wild potentially, if you can find it! While shiny Numel is rather lacklustre, we are happy to say it is quite the opposite for Camerupt’s shiny. It is an incredible black shiny, and the non-Mega version does have a slight gender difference. Female Camerupt has taller humps than the male version.
