Shadow Raids

Team GO Rocket Shadow Raids

Shadow Mewtwo makes its first Shadow Raid debut. For the first time in Pokémon GO, Shadow Mewtwo is also shiny-eligible. widely known as one of the strongest, if not THE strongest Pokémon currently in the entire game.

Previously, Shadow Mewtwo has only been available through defeating Giovanni. Now that it’s in Shadow Raids, it provides a massive bonus to those that may have missed out on the opportunity to catch one.

Two other notable Shadow Raids are Beldum and Machop. Shadow Metagross is the strongest non-mega steel type in the game. While Shadow Machamp isn’t a top contender in the fighting category since Shadow Blaziken’s release, it still makes strides in all leagues within the GO Battle League.

Gyms not under Team GO Rocket control may still host other raids. You are NOT able to use Remote Raid Passes to join Shadow Raids.

  • From Monday, May 22, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, May 28, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. local time, a majority of Gyms will host Shadow Raids.
  • From 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. local time, Saturday, May 27, 2023, Team GO Rocket activity will spike, taking over all raids.
