Armored Mewtwo is finally returning to Pokémon GO after a six-year absence. The news was announced during the 2026 Pokémon World Championships in San Francisco!
Last available in 2020, Armored Mewtwo will return as part of Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Mega Finale, appearing in five-star raids on both days of the global event.

Armored Mewtwo will appear in five-star raids during the following times:
- Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time
- Sunday, September 6, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time
Shiny Armored Mewtwo will not be available during the event.
What Is Armored Mewtwo?
Armored Mewtwo is based on Mewtwo’s appearance in the 2019 movie Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back – Evolution. In the film, Mewtwo is placed inside armor designed to suppress and control its power.
Armored Mewtwo made its Pokémon GO debut in July 2019 and was last available in raids in February and March 2020. Its return gives newer Trainers their first opportunity in years to add this special form of Mewtwo to their collection.
Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back – Evolution is currently available to stream on Netflix.
