Gigantamax Duraludon will makes its Pokémon GO debut at the 2026 in-person Pokémon GO Wild Area events, followed by the global event! Plus Location Backgrounds are announced for Sendai and Mexico City, as well as Special Backgrounds for the global event.

The Alloy Pokémon, Gigantamax Duraludon, will debut in six-star Max Battles during first the Sendai and Mexico City events, and later at the global event. Ticket-holding Trainers at Sendai and Mexico City will also have a chance to learn more about Gigantamax Duraludon in the event-exclusive Special Research story. Complete this for an encounter with a Gigantamax Duraludon that has a Location Background!
Gigantamax Duraludon, will debut in six-star Max Battles only during the global event.
Gigantamax Duraludon is a Steel and Dragon type Pokémon, making it weak to Ground and Fighting type moves, so get prepping those Dynamax and Gigantamax Counters!

Raid Battles
The following Pokémon will appear in raids during the Sendai and Mexico City events:
All trainers will be able to earn Crowned Sword Energy or Crowned Shield Energy by defeating Crowned Sword Zacian or Crowned Shield Zamazenta in Raid Battles.
Location Backgrounds
Ticket-holding Trainers who participate in raids and Max Battles during Pokémon GO Wild Area: Sendai • Tohoku and Pokémon GO Wild Area: Mexico City will have a chance of receiving a new Location Background after making a successful catch. This souvenir background will appear on the Pokémon’s summary page, showing where the Pokémon was caught and commemorating your adventures during Pokémon GO Wild Area.
During the event you have a chance of obtaining a location background on the following Pokémon:
Location Backgrounds are only available from in-person raids and Max Battles. Trainers who participate in these battles remotely will not have a chance to receive Location Backgrounds.
