Limited-Time Test: Trading Range increased until Monday, November 16, 2020

Posted in

Trainers, Niantic has announced a new limited-time test for increased trading distance. The test runs until Monday, November 16 2020 and allows Trainers to perform trades up to 12 KM in distance.

The official post did not include the actual distance, but a quick experiment performed by TheSilphRoad subreddit members showed that 12 KM is a cutoff for doing Trades during this test.

In Europe, it’s often the case that most of the players you usually interact with live inside the 12 KM radius around you. We’re assuming that our American readers have their social circles spread a bit further, but let us know in the comments below if this is the case.

What does this mean for the potential of introducing Remote Trading in Pokémon GO?  Honestly, not much, but Niantic is testing out the waters.

You can find our guide on how much Stardust trades cost here, as well as our guide for how to maximize your Candy gains from trading here:

Make the most of it and get those lucky trades done whilst you have time! Good luck, Trainers.
