Yes, Trainers, it is true! Shiny Meltan has been released to the masses as an additional bonus in celebration of the Lunar New Year Event along with a wave of EX Raid Passes for the 14th and 15th of February, depending on where you are in the world. Now, let’s get to all the juicy details for this baby News Roundup!
|Featured Pokémon||Meltan (Shiny Version)|
|Dates and Times||February 5th, 2019 at 1 P.M. PST (GMT -8) to March 4th, 2019, at 11:59 P.M. PST (GMT -8)|
According to the latest update from pokemongolive.com, the shiny version of Meltan, a slightly more bronzed version with a blue tail, has been discovered. Odds are unknown, but the running theory is it is not a full odds shiny hunt, due to the proliferation of reports. It was originally impossible to get, having never appeared out of the Mystery Box and only making an appearance after Chikorita Community Day (Back when we all called it Nutto, it was always a Ditto, and the collective were confused as to why it existed).
Now is your chance to get this shiny for good, as after 1 p.m. PST the shiny went live through the Mystery Box. In addition, the time has been reduced between opening boxes from a week, to a mere 3 days all the way through to March 4th, 2019, at 11:59 p.m. PST. Unfortunately, for all who had opened their Box, prior to the event, you still have to wait out the full time to open again. Below we will have a small, shareable tutorial to get a Meltan Box to begin with, as well as, for comparison sake, a normal Meltan and Melmetal, versus that Shiny all of us will be hunting:
EX Raids: Feb. 14th/15th
While there was a noticeable jump in days, we finally received some new EX Raid Passes, going back to weekdays instead of the highly favored weekends. We cannot pretend to understand the reasoning, but for those that got them, and for those that can make the raid, congratulations! May the battle be quick with Attack Deoxys, as it should, and may your balls land perfectly!
