Pokémon News Weekly Roundup: Champions Free Gifts, Worlds Promos and PokémonXP Reveals

Welcome to your ‘other’ Pokémon News Weekly Round Up, volume 1! Each week I’ll round up the best Pokémon news (that isn’t Pokémon GO related) from around the globe and other games, and share it here.

Pokémon Champions Battle Challenge

Pokémon Champions kicks off the Monthly Challenge Series starting with June 2026! This competition takes place Friday, June 26, 2026, at 02:00 UTC to Monday, June 29, 2026, at 01:59 UTC. You need to register to compete, and the entry period runs from Friday, June 19, 2026, at 02:00 UTC to Monday, June 29, 2026, at 01:59 UTC. This competition follows Regulation M-B and will use the Single Battle format. For the full list of eligible Pokémon, regulations, and other details, refer to the in-game news.

To enter the competition, go to Battle, then Online Competitions, and then select Monthly Challenge Series June 2026 from the list. Registration will remain open until the end of the event. After the event ends and results are announced, qualifying players who finished three or more matches with a win or loss during the event period will be eligible for rewards.

To view your rankings and collect your rewards, follow these steps:

  1. After the competition has ended, launch your Pokémon Champions game.
  2. Go to Battle.
  3. Select Online Competitions.
  4. Collect your rewards from your in-game mailbox.

All Trainers who participate in three or more battles will be eligible for a participation prize that includes a Tyranitar, 100 Quick Coupons, and the title of MCS 06/2026 Challenger. You can earn the following titles based on your final ranking in the competition:

  • MCS 06/2026 Master: 1st to 10th place
  • MCS 06/2026 Veteran: 11th to 100th place
  • MCS 06/2026 Ace: 101st to 1,000th place
  • MCS 06/2026 Rising Star: 1,001st to 10,000th place

The Pokémon Champions new Battle Pass is now also live. This Battle Pass offers a variety of rewards including the outfit of Canari from Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Mega Stones for Eelektross, Metagross and Starmie, and more.

Pokémon Champions Free Gift

Starting now, if you log into Pokémon Champions before September 2nd at 01:59 UTC, you will receive a free Raichu distribution, as well as the Raichunite X and Raichunite Y Mega Stones.

Pikachu Promo Card and Merch for World Championships Revealed

Trainers competing at the Pokémon World Championships in 2026 have a Paradise Resort Pikachu promo card to look forward to as part of their Competitors Welcome Kit, with a special World Championships 2026 stamp.

A look at the merchandise included in the Worlds Welcome Kit that will be available at Worlds was also teased, including a deck box, card sleeves, and playmat. Also revealed were the items from the Champions line, which are awarded to World Champions.

PokémonXP

PokémonXP is the first fan convention of its kind hosted by The Pokémon Company International!

The first-ever PokémonXP event is taking place during Worlds weekend, and a new promo video has shared a sneak peek at some of the exhibitors and partners they can expect to see at both events, including LEGO. Fans in attendance will also have the opportunity to purchase the first PokémonXP celebratory Pikachu plush available at Pokémon Center! PokémonXP and Worlds attendees are also set to receive a PokémonXP-stamped Rayquaza card exclusive to both events.

The PokémonXP event takes place 28-30 August, 2026 at the Moscone Center, San Francisco, California. Currently advertised on the official website is a variety of activities, a Pokémon Center pop-up, a Play Lab, special guests, a workshop zone, an autograph zone, and more.

Pet Merch at the Pokémon Center

A truly adorable new range has dropped at the Pokémon Center, accessories for your pets! Yes, even your beloved pets can now share in your love of Pokémon. With everything from pet bowls, to little tiny sofas, collars, harnesses and more, this is SO cute.

Jirachi in Pokopia

Jirachi is coming to Pokémon Pokopia during the Wish Upon a Jirachi event taking place June 23, 2026, at 5:00 a.m. to July 8, 2026, at 4:59 a.m. local time. You’ll be talk to Jirachi to get a recipe for wish notes. From there, interact with other Pokémon and fulfill their requests to transform wish notes into sparkling wish notes. You’ll then be able to visit Jirachi at your Pokémon Center of choice to exchange sparkling wish notes for furniture and décor inspired by the starry sky.

Don’t forget that Jirachi can only visit towns with a rebuilt Pokémon Center, so to participate in this event, you need to have one up and running!

Pokémon Legends Z:A – Season 13 Ranked Battles

Pokémon Legends: Z-A  Ranked Battles Season 13 kicks off on Thursday, 25 June 2026, at 06:00 UTC until Thursday, 16 July 2026, at 01:59 UTC. Test your skills in four-player, real-time online battles with Trainers from around the world. When you compete, you’ll earn points based on your performance, which will raise your rank. You’ll start off at Rank Z, and you can be promoted all the way to the Rank A.

There are three types of rewards for Ranked Battles: battle rewards, promotion rewards, and season rewards. You’ll receive battle rewards at the end of each battle (regardless of your performance) and earn promotion rewards when you advance to the next rank. This season, you can earn Beast Balls as you advance. Additionally you can earn the following Mega Stones as promotion rewards for Rank Y through Rank S, Greninjite, Delphoxite, Chesnaughtite, Baxcalibrite, Sceptilite, Swampertite, and Blazikenite stones. The final type of reward is season rewards, which are based on your ranking when the season concludes. The full list of these rewards is as follows:
