This week has been another major week of collaboration announcements in world of Pokémon. From doughnuts, to shoes, to cameras, 30 years of Pokémon means new collaborations with major companies. Plus, James Turner returns to Pokémon, HOME gets an update, and an incredible character book is released.
Pokémon x Krispy Kremes
Krispy Kreme have teamed up with Pokémon to release limited edition Pokémon themed doughnuts! Featuring Pikachu, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Jigglypuff and a Poké Ball, there are not only doughnuts, but also Golden Original Glazed® Bites are available in limited edition Pokémon cups. Krispy Kreme describe the flavours as follows:
- Pikachu – Lemon Sherbet Kreme™, dipped in lemon flavour icing with a fizzy Thunderbolt & Pikachu plaque.
- Charmander – Dulce de leche & marshmallow filling, dipped in caramel icing with Charmander decoration.
- Jigglypuff – Original Glazed™, strawberry flavour frosting, strawberry biscuit crumb & Jigglypuff plaque.
- Poké Ball – Original Glazed™ doughnut dipped in white icing, finished with Poké Ball inspired sprinkles.
- Bulbasaur – Original Glazed® doughnut, dipped in vanilla icing and finished with green frosting leaves for a blooming finish topped with a Bulbasaur decoration.
- Squirtle – Original Glazed® doughnut is piped with fluffy cotton candy flavored buttercreme, then dipped in shimmering sanding sugar and white nonpareils and finished with a surfing Squirtle piece on top.
These limited edition doughnuts are available at locations across the UK, USA and Canada. Only four flavours are available in the UK, with Squirtle and Bulbasaur sticking to the Americas.
Pokémon x Polaroid
Another major collaboration announced is with Polaroid, bringing three new Pokémon inspired cameras to life. They include the Polaroid Now Instant Camera Generation 3 – Pokémon Edition that sports the iconic red, white, and black colouring along with Poké Ball imagery, andr two different Polaroid Go Generation 3 instant cameras that take inspiration from Pikachu or Sylveon.
Special Pokémon × Polaroid film will also be released. For the Polaroid Go instant cameras, there is Pikachu Edition Go film whose frames are yellow with Pikachu adorning them, while the Sylveon Edition film frames are decorated with silhouettes of Sylveon, bows, and Poké Balls. The Pokémon Edition i-Type film features frames that depict a variety of Pokémon, including Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Gengar, Umbreon, Mimikyu, and more.
In addition to the cameras and film, a variety of Poké Ball-themed accessories will be available. A Poké Ball-design strap will be released, and you can store your new Go instant camera in a case shaped like a Poké Ball, and finally there is also a Poké Ball-shaped photo album.
Pre-orders are available now from both Polaroid and the Pokémon Center.
Pokémon x Crocs
Crocs have revealed three new Pokémon-Themed Clogs, featuring Gengar, Pikachu and Jigglypuff, in both kids and adult sizes, as well as a new range of Pokémon-themed Jibbitz to decorate your Crocs. Release for these is expected in November 2026. Poké Ball inspired Crocs had already been revealed in recent weeks, and we anticipate the whole range will be popular!
James Turner Returns to Pokémon
James Turner has shared the following news on his twitter (x) account:
“Big news! I’ve started a new role as Creative Director of Pokémon Art and Design at The Pokémon Company International.
It feels great to be working in the world of Pokémon again, with a lovely group of people.
I’m very excited about what comes next!”
James Turner is a significant person in Pokémon history, becoming the first westerner to ever design a Pokémon. He left Game Freak in 2022 to work on The Plucky Squire, a platform video game. He now returns to Pokémon as Creative Director of Pokémon Art and Design. During his absence he still worked on several Pokémon projects, including the Misadventures of Sirfetch’d and Pichu, along with designing merch for the Pokémon Center, notably including the much-love pet range. We don’t know yet what this new role means for Turner, but his distinctive art style is always a welcome addition to the Pokémon franchise, and we hope to see more of his upcoming projects soon!
Pokémon HOME Storage Expansion
With Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen becoming compatible with HOME, it will update to Version 4.1.0, and trainers subscribed to the Premium Plan will be able to deposit up to 9,000 Pokémon. The current limit is 6,000, so that is a massive 3,000 Pokémon increase!
Alongside this update in October, trainers will also be able to transfer Pokémon to HOME caught using a Safari Ball in Pokémon GO for the first time. When these Pokémon are transferred to Pokémon HOME from GO, the Pokémon’s ball will change to a Strange Ball.
The Pokémon Deluxe Character Guide from Pikachu Press
The Pokémon Deluxe Character Guide from Pikachu Press has now been released. Bringing together all known Pokémon from the Kanto region to the Paldea region, starting with #0001 Bulbasaur and ending with #1025 Pecharunt, this book draws on information and content from the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon video games, and the Pokémon animated series. At a whopping 336-pages, this hardcover book has a foreword written by The Pokémon Company president Tsunekazu Ishihara and would make an incredible gift for any Pokémon fan.
Pokémon x JimmyPaul by Difuzed
As part of a special collaboration between Pokémon and Amsterdam-based designer JimmyPaul in partnership with Difuzed, a range of bags and hats have been released on the Pokémon Center. Following up on JimmyPaul’s AW26 collection, Roam, at London Fashion Week, this collection “combines nostalgia with creativity to showcase wearable art.”. Interesting choices of Pokémon were made, with Togepi and Mr. Mime as the focus. Togepi is always an adorable choice, but Mr. Mime was a surprise… would you rock a Mr. Mime bag?
