Trainers! The latest feature in the game, Pokémon Playgrounds, is finally rolling out beyond the trial phase, and brings a new method to explore GO Snapshot. Your beloved Pokémon will be able to interact with their surroundings in creative and exciting ways, so let’s find out all about it!
Thanks to all AR scans done by trainers in the past, you can now take fun GO Snapshots of your Pokémon interacting with real-world locations. This can be done in PokéStops or Gyms that have become Pokémon Playgrounds.
That’s not all, as you can also find other trainers’ Pokémon at some of these locations and even interact with them!
PokéStops or Gyms with swirling energy indicators denote a Pokémon Playground. These spots will have a small icon in the lower corner of the screen.
Note: Pokémon Playgrounds are currently limited to select cities at the time of writing this article and will soon be available at all locations.
When you stumble upon a Pokémon Playground, open your in-game camera and point it towards the designated landmark. Then, select up to three of your Pokémon and place them at the Playground.
Your Pokémon can interact with real-world objects in that location and you can position them as you like to click interesting GO Snapshots!
Moreover, other trainers who visit the same Pokémon Playground will be able to interact with your Pokémon for up to 48 hours. And, if you end up missing your teammates or need them for battle, recall them anytime you want!
