Ultra Necrozma may be on its way to Pokémon GO! Two new Ultra Burst raid tiers have been found in the latest APK, and Scopely may already be teasing its arrival ahead of Pokémon GO Tour: Alola. Ultra Necrozma is one of the biggest Alola releases we’re still waiting for, and with GO Tour heading to the Alola region next February, these new discoveries certainly have our attention.
Ultra Burst raid tiers discovered
A discovery from Matt in the PokéMiners Discord, shared on The Silph Road, reveals two new raid tiers:
RAID_LEVEL_ULTRA_BURSTRAID_LEVEL_ULTRA_BURST_COORDINATED
Ultra Burst is how Necrozma transforms into Ultra Necrozma in the main series games, so the connection here is pretty clear. The “Coordinated” version is the interesting part: it suggests there could be two versions of these raids, although we don’t yet know what would make them different.
An “Ultra” category entry was also reportedly added in the previous version alongside Mega X, Mega Y and Primal. This suggests Ultra Necrozma could work as a temporary transformation, similar to Mega Evolution or Primal Reversion.
How that would interact with Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings Necrozma is still an open question. In the main series, either fused form can use Ultra Burst while holding Ultranecrozium Z. We’ll have to see how GO adapts that system.
Scopely’s “ultra” hint for GO Tour: Alola
There’s a little more fuel for the speculation in Scopely’s recent GO Tour announcement. The official website ends its preview with:
We’re excited for another ultra fun year with you!
That special formatting on “ultra” is looking rather interesting now! It could simply refer to Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, but paired with the new raid tiers, it certainly reads like a possible Ultra Necrozma teaser.
As we noted in our GO Tour: Alola announcement, Ultra Necrozma is among the unreleased Alola Pokémon we could definitely see during the event, especially given that this is the Alola tour. The in-person celebrations take place in Los Angeles and Kaohsiung on February 19–21, 2027, followed by the global event on February 27–28, and we are expecting to learn more about this in the coming months.
Wishiwashi form changes found too
Wishiwashi also gets a mention in the latest datamining reports, with two entries pointing to form changes during battle:

These suggest Wishiwashi will be able to switch between Solo Form and School Form during a battle. In the main series, its Schooling Ability ties that transformation to its HP, so we’re curious to see how that will translate to GO.
Between Wishiwashi and Ultra Necrozma, it looks like preparations for more Alola Pokémon are coming along!
