New Mega Evolutions for Pokémon Legends: Z-A Allegedly Leaked – Get Prepped in Pokémon GO!

Folks, this is a major potential spoiler warning. A whopping 27 new Mega Evolutions have allegedly been leaked ahead of the release of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, and it may be worthwhile starting to prep for their eventual Pokémon GO release! These 27 rumoured Mega Evolutions are all for currently existing Pokémon, so you can not only attempt to grind amazing IVs, but also Candy and XL Candy to level up those Pokémon too.

It is important to note that this is a leak, and has not been verified, so this list may be inaccurate! While this leak occurred several months ago, we have decided to share it now as Mega Dragonite has been confirmed, so Pokémon GO trainers can start prepping in GO if they so desire.

This is your final warning, there is a full list of the leaked new Mega Evolutions below, so this is your last chance to click off the article if you don’t want spoilers!

Thoughts

There are some amazing Pokémon here, with some great potential for designs and meta impact! The three announced featured Legends: Z-A First Partner (starter) Pokémon all gain a new Mega Evolution, Mega Meganium, Mega Feraligatr and Mega Emboar. They all have really fun potential, and it could make them all much more meta in terms of Pokémon GO as raid attackers.

You'll choose one of these Pokemon to accompany you on a new journey. Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile

Interestingly, no Pokémon from the Hoenn region gained a new Mega Evolution, with Sinnoh, Alola and Galar only having one Mega Evolution each.

The game returns to Kalos so it is unsurprising to see that Kalos gets the most, with the setting being Lumiose City. All three Kalos First Partner Pokémon also get a new Mega, as does the Kalos Legendary Zygarde! Zygarde has so far been incredibly difficult to obtain in Pokémon GO, so fingers crossed we get an easier way to get the necessary cells and access to more Zygarde in the future.

We know many trainers are really hyped to see Mega Dragonite, the Kanto OG dragon often feels neglected compared to some of the later dragons, so this may see a return to form and a time to shine for it! With the design shown in the Pokémon Presents, it is a Dragon and Flying type and brings back a lot of Dragonair design elements. It certainly isn’t the design many were expecting or hoping, so we are curious to hear your thoughts on it!

Another interesting choice is Eternal Flower Floette. For those who aren’t aware of their lore, Eternal Flower Floette is a Floette that was befriended by AZ, a trainer featured in Pokémon X and Y, and it has much better stats than a standard Floette. It has never been obtainable in a game before, and was actually resurrected by AZ to give it eternal life. It looks somewhat different to a normal Floette, and is the only known Pokémon to have access to the move Light of Ruin. The leak states Floette specifically, not their evolution Florges, which would be unique!

I think there are some incredible potential designs here, in particular Scolipede, Victreebel, Dragalge and Drampa all leap out at me. In terms of meta, it seems fair to guess that quite a few of these could have a major impact in GO, including Dragonite, Zygarde, Chandelure, Greninja and Excadrill. Several of these are already a key part of the raid meta, so having a Mega will make them even more valuable!

Which (alleged) new Mega Evolution are you most excited for?
