Sometimes you see things happen in Pokémon GO that are truly wild, and this week one happened to one of my friends in my local community Matt. He caught a whopping THREE shiny Galarian Articuno in a single week! It’s rare to see such an incredible run of luck, never mind see it in your own community, so I had to share his story.
Last Sunday Matt messaged our group chat with great excitement, sharing that not only did he catch his first Galarian Articuno, but that it was shiny!
Matt has previously caught a shiny Galarian Moltres, so he was absolutely thrilled to add a shiny Galarian Articuno to his collection. Plus as a fellow Team Mystic trainer, it is always exciting to catch your team bird. And more so in shiny form!
We shared our joy for him, and he was also delighted to finally have one of each of the Galarian Legendary birds, with Articuno being the last one he needed to complete the set.
What a way to do it with the shiny!
So you can imagine my surprise when on the 1st of April, the group chat got another message from Matt, claiming he had caught another shiny Galarian Articuno.
At first I was not having it. I wasn’t falling for it. It’s April Fool’s Day! Of course he couldn’t possibly have caught another shiny Galarian Articuno again already.
But there it was, with a screenshot of a different Articuno, and the journal screenshot to prove it.
A totally different CP, different IV, but unmistakably, another shiny Galarian Articuno.
What unreal luck!
And even better, he had caught it on his way home from work after the night shift. What a reward for hard work.
At this point I realised that we are actually lucky friends, so suggested that we could potentially meet up to lucky trade, as I have a spare shiny Galarian Zapdos, and he had a spare shiny Galarian Articuno.
Before we even had chance to organise the trade, there is was, just a couple of days later. The group chat pinged once again with a message from Matt, sharing that he had caught yet another shiny Galarian Articuno!
At this point I am totally flabbergasted. How can one trainer have so much luck? Caught once again on the way home from the night shift, the shiny Galarian Articuno was actually one of TWO Galarian Legendary Birds Matt saw on one Daily Adventure Incense. The first, a non-shiny Galarian Moltres fled, and the very next spawn was the shiny Galarian Articuno.
A Sunday, a Tuesday, and a Saturday. Three shiny Galarian Articuno in a single week. Two on the same route home from work!
And do you want to know the most impressive thing? Matt doesn’t even have access to a Roar of Time Dialga, so each time he has just been running his standard 15 minute long Daily Adventure Incense!
