With Legends ZA right around the corner, it was only a matter of time before Mega Evolutions made their way to Pokémon TCG Pocket, and now, this fan-favorite gimmick has cemented itself in the game, with three Megas revealed amidst the hype.
Mega Evolutions will be available in Pokémon TCG Pocket this fall, during the autumn period, and it will mark two unconventional mechanics that are derived from the physical TCG:
- Knocking out a Mega Evolution card rewards you with 3 points, granting you an instant win in TCG Pocket.
- Megas are Stage 1 and Stage 2 cards, and can be evolved directly from their respective Basic card or Stage 1 card.
The revelation of the Megas of Altaria and Blaziken indicate a Gen 3 focused set, and all 46 Megas can be distributed over major and minor expansions.
As stated regarding their evolution:
- Mega Altaria can be directly evolved from Swablu.
- Mega Gyarados can be directly evolved from Magikarp.
- Mega Blaziken can be directly evolved from Combusken.
Additionally, Megas are known for their high HP so seeing 200+ HP values will be the new meta in TCG Pocket.
