Carvanha and Sharpedo

Pokémon GO Sharpedo

Pokémon GO Sharpedo evolves from the Pokémon GO Carvanha, and by this time, evolving a fish into a shark should not be surprising to anyone. This Pokémon family has a dual type of water and dark.

Sharpedo Max CP is 1986, which does not really reach any of the higher meta ranks. It’s not only the low CP that pulls Sharpedo down, it’s actually Sharpedo’s surprisingly almost-none-existent DEF (83) that weighed it down so much. Add the average STA (140) and you have a very fragile Pokémon.

Having a name like “Brutal Pokémon”, doesn’t come out of thin air. The reason for its name is because of its great ATK (243). With that, Shapedo is another glass cannon of attacker.

Where to find Sharpedo in Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go trainers can see Carvanha in rivers, riverbanks, streams, and Reservoir Biomes. While Shapedo can be encounted in more Open Water Biomes, like the beach, or the ocean.

Sharpedo in the Pokémon GO meta

Sharpedo, with a less than 2k max CP, average STA, and very disappointing DEF will not make the cut in high ranks as a defender. On the other hand, its ATK (243) makes it a great glass cannon.

As strong as Sharpedo’s ATK is, never forget how fragile it is because of its DEF (83). Sharpedo seriously has to depend on dodging attacks from its opponent in order to stay in the battle as long as possible. One wrong dodge could be all it takes for Sharpedo to feint.

In other Pokémon games, it’s not just the ATK that makes Sharperdo terrfying, but also its Speed. In Pokémon Go, Sharpedo delivers fast execution of moves and a great dodge in compensation for its DEF and STA.

Sharpedo is known to have a mega evolution, and with that comes a slight increase in its DEF, and more power for its ATK. Before mega evolutions become a thing in GO, Sharpedo stays a mid-tier attacker.
