Torkoal

Pokemon GO Torkoal

Pokemon GO Torkoal (Max CP 2036) is a four legged CO2 emission machine, also known as the “Coal Pokemon”. Popularized by Ash Ketchum himself, Torkoal, a pure fire type Pokémon is one Ash’s top choice during his journey through the Hoenn Region.

Torkoal stats are mediocre, resulting in a Pokemon that will be yet another Generation III Pokedex filler.

Where to find Torkoal in Pokemon GO?

Torkoal lives in mountains, so expect to encounter this Pokémon on most places like Desert or Rough Terrain Biomes, similar to Larvitar spawn areas.

Torkoal in the Pokémon GO meta

Different from how the anime depicted Torkoal, we don’t expect anything exciting from this coal-ninja Turtle. Sure, it has great defensive stats, however… it’s ATK is just mediocre and we don’t expect an exciting variety of moves. There are simply better fire types in the game, with more variety and better stats.

Additionally, Torkoal does not have any mega evolution, and will be another Pokedex filler in Pokémon Go.

Pokémon GO Torkoal Moves

We expect the following moves to be a part of Torkoal move pool:

  • Overheat fire
  • Fire Blast fire
  • Body Slam normal
  • Earthquake ground
  • Gyro Ball steel
  • Sludge Bomb poison
  • Stone Edge rock

In addition, we expect that at least some of these moves will be added to Pokemon GO and eventually appear in Torkoal’s move pool:

  • Eruption fire
  • Fire Spin fire
  • Explosion normal
  • Rapid Spin normal
  • Rollout rock
  • Earth Power ground

Shiny Torkoal in Pokemon GO

A normal Torkoal has a reddish brown skin, and dark grey bands on its legs and neck. It has a black shell with warm red holes.

A shiny Torkoal has very similar colors to its normal counterpart except that it has a yellow skin.
