Datamining Report: New Pokémon, New Costumes and New Megas

The newest datamine of Pokémon GO has even more hints that certain Mega Pokémon may be coming, as well as new Pokémon, and some Costume Pokémon!

💡 Disclaimer: You know the drill by now, everything in this article is data mined, and therefore subject to change or not even being released at all. I feel like this is more appropriate with this post than most like this, as there are things in this article that could very well change by the time this content is released.

New Mega Pokémon and New Pokémon

A few days ago we reported that some new Mega Pokémon had been discovered as a ‘Mega Portrait‘, but now they have been added as actual assets in game.

It looks more and more like these three Mega Pokémon will be the next we see come to the game. Interestingly, the announcement for the Interlude PvP Season has a teaser in it for the GO Battle Day Mega Stardust Surprise, including a bonus of a ‘A Mega Surprise!’. Could this relate to one of these new Megas coming to game? Who knows!

Also featured here are several new Pokemon, we know Fomantis and their evolution Lurantis are coming as part of the Lush Jungle event, but we haven’t had any mentions of Salandit or Dewpider. Salandit and Dewpider haven’t had their evolutions Salazzle or Araquanid added yet, but their addition to the game assets means we might see them coming soon as part of the Season of Alola.

Salazzle has a lot of potential as a Poison type attacker, so we’re intrigued to see what moves it will get. Araquanid also looks like it could have PvP potential thanks to its unusual Water and Bug dual typing.

New Costume Pokémon

OK, OK, I can hear you shouting that you don’t care about Costume Pokémon, but hey, some of us love them so let us enjoy them! These particular Costume Pokémon assets are interesting because they are evolved forms of existing Costume Pokémon. Flower Crown Togepi and Buneary have been out previously as part of an Easter event back in 2020, but they couldn’t evolve, as happens with many Costume Pokémon. One of the biggest gripes folks have with Costume Pokémon is their lack of evolving, so does this mean we’ll see Flower Crown Togepi and Buneary return at Easter, but this time be able to evolve? We hope so!

Togekiss is so meta relevant, and there will be people out there with amazing IV Flower Crown Togepi that are essentially useless to them in game, and this would mean they could rock up to Master League or in raids rocking that Flower Crown Togekiss. We will have our fingers crossed for this one!

The addition of these assets also implies that it is likely we are going to get a 2022 Easter event, which is usually a sort of Eggstravaganza. As mentioned, this is total speculation, but it seems very likely as we get one every year!

New Little Cup Assets

A new logo for Little Cup has been added, probably in preparation of GO Battle Day: Beginner’s Paradise on Sunday, April 17, 2022, which features Little Cup as one of the playable leagues for the event. Cute!
