Pokémon Debut: Nickit and Thievul

Nickit, the Fox Pokémon, and its Evolution, Thievul, make their Pokémon GO debuts! You can use 50 Nickit Candy to evolve Nickit into Thievul.

While Nickit may seem an odd choice for an event called ‘Deep Depths’, Nickit’s lore states that it is a cunning thief, stealing food from others. Nickit is from the Galar region which is based on the UK, and many UK cities have a lot of urban foxes due to their natural environment being used to build housing. This means those foxes are often forced to forage and scavenge for food, and they are often seen diving into the deep depths of people’s bins (trash cans!), in an effort to be fed.

During this event, you’ll have an increased chance to encounter and hatch Shiny Clauncher! That’s right, it will be a boosted shiny both in the wild, and in 7km eggs.

Shiny Clauncher and Clawitzer are really fantastic shinies, taking their inspiration for the real life lobsters they are based on. Blue lobsters are a real, and quite rare variant of lobsters, though typically they are red in colour. For shiny Clauncher and Clawitzer, the opposite is true!
