Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global is almost upon us, and Scopely Explore have revealed some final details for the event. Don’t forget, it takes place from Saturday, July 11, to Sunday, July 12, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time each day!
GO Fest 2026: Global is a FREE event
- During each hour of the event, Trainers will have a higher chance of encountering Pokémon of a specific type. Over the course of the event weekend, Trainers will have the opportunity to encounter Pokémon of all 18 types. Use this time to earn the in-game platinum medal for each type.
- Celebrate Pokémon GO Fest with an extra event hour, for a total of 9 hours each day, for both days: 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. local time.
- Mega Mewtwo X will appear in Super Mega Raids on Saturday and Mega Mewtwo Y will appear in Super Mega Raids on Sunday. Mewtwo caught from those raids will have at least one Mega Level unlocked, so you can Mega Evolve it into the form you battled without the initial energy cost. Completing these raids will also award Mega Energy.
- Missed a five-star raid during Road of Legends? This weekend’s another chance to take on these formidable Pokémon with each day featuring a different lineup.
Rotating Hourly Spawns During GO Fest
During each hour of the event, trainers will have an increased chance of encountering pokemon with specific typing. Over the course of the weekend, all 18 Pokémon types will be featured!

Global Challenge
Throughout the weekend, ticket-holding Trainers can work together to complete hourly Global Challenges that are part of three-hour blocks. If the challenge is completed in time, a special bonus will be unlocked for the remainder of the block for ticket-holding Trainers.
Trainers can activate upgraded versions of upcoming events by completing hourly Global Challenges during GO Fest 2026: Global. A new Ultra Unlock event will activate at 15, 30, and 45 successful Global Challenges.
- Ultra Unlock: 10th Anniversary Edition
If Trainers complete 15 hourly Global Challenges, they’ll boost the 10th Anniversary Party event.

Mega Mewtwo X & Y Debut with Special Backgrounds
This year, Mega Mewtwo X and Y are the stars of the event!
Mewtwo will be able to Mega Evolve, including ones you have already caught. Mewtwo will be able to Mega Evolve into Mega Mewtwo X or Mega Mewtwo Y. Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y are exceptionally powerful Pokémon that require much more Mega Energy than other Pokémon to Mega Evolve. This energy will become available for the first time from Mega Mewtwo Super Mega Raids during Pokémon GO Fest 2026.
As a special bonus with its debut during Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global, every Mega Mewtwo caught from Super Mega Raids will also have at least one Mega Level already unlocked and can be Mega Evolved without the initial energy cost. If you’re lucky, it might even be at Mega Level 2 or 3!
The Mewtwo that Trainers can catch after completing Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y Super Mega Raids might have a unique Special Background.
Pokémon other than Mewtwo caught from five-star raids, Primal Raids, and Mega Raid between July 6 and July 12, may also have a commemorative 10th anniversary–themed Special Background.
- Defeat Mega Mewtwo X in Super Mega Raids to get the energy you need to Mega Evolve Mewtwo into Mega Mewtwo X.
- Defeat Mega Mewtwo Y in Super Mega Raids to get the energy you need to Mega Evolve Mewtwo into Mega Mewtwo Y.

New York City Community Celebration
New York City will have a special Community Celebration experience during Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global. Trainers can begin their adventure at Industry City, then continue playing across the boroughs with local communities and Community Ambassadors.
Throughout the weekend, Community Ambassadors will host meetups across parks and popular play areas in New York City, giving Trainers more ways to find Routes, join raids, and take on GO Fest challenges together.
