This Week in Pokémon GO: 30 January - 5 February 2023

Coming this week in Pokémon GO, commencing 30th January we have the end of the Crackling Voltage Event, the Team GO Rocket Takeover with Shadow Registeel debuting, and the start of a brand new month!

Crackling Voltage Event

From Friday, January 27, 2023 at 10:00am, to Sunday February 5, 2023 at 11:59pm local time.
Different Pokémon will be hatching from 7km eggs

Two brand new shiny Pokémon will debut during the Crackling Voltage event, the Legendary Tapu Koko, and Helioptile! Tapu Koko is the first of the Guardian Diety Pokemon to see their shiny released in Pokémon GO.

Team GO Rocket will appear more frequently at PokéStops and in Balloons
You can use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokémon forget Frustration

GO Battle League Season 13

GO Battle League: Mythical Wishes will start on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT -8)
End-of-Season rewards will be available on the battle screen.
Your GO Battle League rank will be reset.
Rank-up requirements will remain the same as the prior Season.

Spotlight Hour

Blitzle

Tuesday 31st January 6pm till 7pm local time we have Blitzle as the featured Pokémon for spotlight hour, along with a 2× candy for transferring Pokémon.

Raid Hour

Registeel

Wednesday 1st February 6pm till 7pm local time Registeel will be appearing in raids for raid hour. Registeel caught during this time will know the special charged attack Zap Cannon.

Mega Raids

Aerodactyl (Mega)

From January 25 to February 1 Mega Aerodactyl will appear in Mega Raids.

Gengar (Mega)

Mega Gengar will appear in raids from Wednesday, February 1, 2023 10:00am, till Wednesday February 8, 2023 10:00am.

Five Star Raids

Tapu Koko

From January 25 to February 1 Tapu Koko will appear in five-star raids. It will be available as a shiny for the first time ever!

Registeel

Registeel will appear in raids from Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 10:00am till Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 10:00am. Registeel caught during this time will know the special charged attack Zap Cannon.

January/February 2023 Research Breakthrough

Completing Field Research tasks leads to Research Breakthroughs, which now reward Trainers with different items in addition to encounters with a variety of Pokémon. Check out the Research Breakthrough rewards you can look forward to this Season!

Complete Field Research tasks during the whole season to earn an encounter from a pool of Pokémon, including Galarian Mr. Mime, Delibird, Bagon, Furfrou, Deino and Goomy. For the first time, you are also to encounter shiny Galarian Mr. Mime if you are lucky!
