Complete guide to Pokémon GO’s Season of Alola 🌴, a special three months long in-game season that runs from March through June 2022. Season of Alola brings Pokémon from the Alola Region to the world of Pokémon GO.
Tapu Koko makes a debut as a Tier 5 Pokémon GO raid boss, a new research story line starts with Professor Willow and we finally meet the Gen 7 starters: Rowlet, Litten and Popplio.

New Pokémon
More Pokémon first discovered in the Alola region from Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon have been spotted in Pokémon GO! Keep an eye out for the following Pokémon and maybe we’ll find even more as the season progresses.

Tapu Koko
From Tuesday, March 1, 2022, to Tuesday, March 15, 2022 Tapu Koko will feature in 5 star raids.
Rockruff
Rockruff will also feature in raids. If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one!
Wild
Comfey will be appearing only in Hawaii. If you’re lucky, you might encounter a shiny Yungoos!

Conduct Research on the Islands of Alola!
Throughout the Season, you’ll be able to complete different Special Research lines to learn about each of the islands in Alola. These Special Research lines will be available to collect until the Season ends on June 1!*
If you complete them by June 1, 2022, you’ll unlock a bonus Special Research line at the end of the Season!
Trainers who obtain the end-of-Season Special Research by completing the four Special Research lines will be able to purchase the ticket in the shop for more rewards.
Tickets for the end-of-Season research will also be available in the shop to purchase for US$4.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency)**.
*These Special Research lines will be available to collect beginning at 10:00 a.m. local time on specified dates and ending on June 1, 2022 at 9:59 a.m. You can finish a research line anytime after you receive it.
**Tickets are nonrefundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service). Please note that this Special Research will not include an in-game medal.

Seasonal Bonuses
During the Season of Alola, the following bonuses will be active:
- Increased Incense effectiveness while moving
- Increased damage for Pokémon participating in raids remotely
- Guaranteed Gifts from PokéStop spins
- Up to two free Raid Passes per day by spinning Gym Photo Discs
- Incense will last for 90 minutes
Alola-themed Avatar Item
The styles of Alola will also be coming to Pokémon GO this season. Trainers can look forward to an avatar item inspired by Comfey coming to the in-game shop soon.
