Zeraora in Pokémon GO: Best Mythical for Raids?

GO Fest Global 2026 is almost here, and Pokémon GO players will be able to get themselves the Electric-type Mythical from Gen 7, Zeraora. This electrifying beast enjoys a massive fandom, to the point that it has been one of the most eagerly awaited additions to the game.

But collection goals aside, how strong is Zeraora for Raids? Most Mythicals hardly make an impact in the PvE scene, with a few like Darkrai and the Hoopa duo being meta-relevant but quite outclassed. Quick note: Mega Darkrai will be good but will be surpassed by a good number of other Dark types.

So let’s turn on the switch for Zeraora and see how well it fares in the meta. Since it also has a Mega Evolution, we will also include that prospect in our analysis.

Zeraora has a decent ATK of 252, which is lower than many Pseudo Legendaries. On the other hand, Mega Zeraora has an explosive 361 ATK, making it an obvious contender for top-tier Electric-type DPS. The fact of the matter here is that an Electric Pokémon like Regieleki is among the best attackers in this category, all thanks to its Thunder Cage move. In fact, Regieleki has a lower ATK than Zeraora, so does this Mythical get its own claim to fame?

To answer this question, let’s look at Plasma Fists.

As evident from the table above, Plasma Fist is a superb move. In fact, it’s the best Electric Charged Attack after Thunder Cage. It should also be noted that Plasma Fists is pretty close in DPSxDPE numbers to Glaive Rush, the same move that propelled Baxcalibur and its Mega to stardom. Baxcalibur has an ATK of 254 (just 2 points higher than Zeraora), and it carved a niche for itself in the meta with a move that’s just a little stronger than Plasma Fists, in one of the most hotly contested types (Dragon). This actually gives hope to Zeraora’s prospects.

Alright, so it looks like Zeraora is all set to make a blast in Pokémon GO! Regular Zeraora edges out Xurkitree and Shadow Raikou, and is only 0.21% behind Shadow Electivire and Shadow Raikou, and 2.4% behind Regieleki in DPS figures.

Super Mega Raichu Raid Day a week after GO Fest 2026 Global will give you Mega Raichu Y, a stronger and waaayyyyy cheaper option than Zeraora. Indeed, Mega Raichu Y dishes out more than 10% more damage than Zeraora, and maxing it out is easy peasy, given how widely available Pikachu Candy is.

However, hold your horses, or rather, hold your Zeraora, as the eventual debut of Mega Zeraora brings THE strongest Electric type in Pokémon GO. It deals a shocking 27.29% more damage than Mega Raichu Y. To give you a better perspective (since Mega Raichu Y is yet to debut), Mega Zeraora does 37% more damage than Regilekei, the current leader of Electric types in Pokémon GO! Remember that being a Mega Evolution, Mega Zeraora is also going to boost the power of other Electric types in Raids, making it more of an asset for PvE.

So if you’re lucky enough to bag a hundo Zeraora, keep it like a trophy for the eventual Mega release. If not, it’s a worthy contender for a Bottle Cap as well!

Here you go! Mega Zeraora is destined to be top 5 in Pokémon GO, cementing it as an elite attacker and the undisputed king of Mythicals. This also means that against Water and Flying Raid Bosses, Mega Zeraora is the best counter. It is unchallenged in power against Water types, while Mega Baxcalibur with Ice Fang and Avalanche comes close against Flying Bosses weak to both Electric and Ice. Do note that Mega Zeraora does 30% more damage than an icy Mega Baxcalibur. 

There is no argument. Zeraora, and by extension, Mega Zeraora, is the best Mythical in Pokémon GO, and is the most prized catch from GO Fest, behind Mega Mewtwo X and Y.
