If you just woke up and you’re getting ready for your region’s February Community Day, there’s a few things you should know about how the Community Day in Japan went. We’ve assembled a quick list of PSAs and important bits of information from our readers and Discord members. We’re also featuring Wilson’s (the youngest GO Hub mod 💖) Pokemon haul for the day through out the article and Dare’s (GO Hub mod 💖 from Kuching, Sarawak Malaysia) local spawns.
Shiny Dratini chance is about the same as shiny Pikachu was. Some of our members have reported catching a shiny after only 10 Dratini, while the average chance seems to be 2-3 in 100 during the event.
These numbers are purely guesswork at this moment, but our readers are unanimous about this: shiny Dratini was not rare during the Community Day in Asia and Oceania.
Lots of Dratini are spawning, but still less than Pikachu. Pikachu were spawning like crazy during January’s Community Day, but unfortunately, Dratini is not following the same pattern. A lot of them are spawning, but not nearly as much as Pikachu.
Significant network errors were present at start. Berries, Ultra balls, Great balls, time on Stardust, Incense and Lucky Eggs were being wasted due to multiple errors from the server. Error 26 on catching a Pokemon or when trying to tap on a Pokemon was extremely frustrating, but it eventually got fixed.
Fun / useful observations
- Spawns from before event started actually changed to new Pokemon once the event started. Don’t catch all of the Pokemon that are present prior to the event.
- Use the skip catch animation trick: How to skip Pokeball shaking animation and Pokémon catch screen
Dratini IV and CP chart: absolutely important to remember
