Latias loses Dragon Claw, gains Outrage in a Game Master update

Posted in

Trainers, a small update has happened in the Game Master file. Latias no longer has Dragon Claw, replaced by Outrage. Latios move pool is unaffected in this Game Master update.

Here’s how Latias move pool looks now:

Quick Charge
Dragon Breath Dragon Psychic Psychic
Zen Headbutt Psychic Outrage Dragon
Thunder Electric

We’re honestly disappointed by this change, as Latias is now left with only single bar charge moves, and despite Outrage being superior damage wise to Dragon Claw, DC is a super fun, niche three bar Dragon type move that felt right at home with the swift member of the Eon duo.

It seems like Niantic is trying to give Latias a bit more power with Outrage, as Latios has the stat advantage. Here are their moves for comparison sake:

  • Shared
    • Dragon Breath DRAGON (fast)
    • Zen Headbutt PSYCHIC (fast)
    • Psychic PSYCHIC (charge, 1 bar)
  • Latios only:
    • Solar Beam GRASS (charge, 1 bar)
    • Dragon Claw DRAGON (charge, 3 bar)
  • Latias only:
    • Thunder ELECTRIC (charge, 1 bar)
    • Outrage DRAGON (charge, 2 bar)

Here’s the excerpt from the Game Master file:

 quick_moves: DRAGON_BREATH_FAST
 quick_moves: ZEN_HEADBUTT_FAST
 cinematic_moves: PSYCHIC
 cinematic_moves: OUTRAGE
 cinematic_moves: THUNDER

And a screenshot of the diff:

Pardon my unregistered Sublime Text, I’m a Visual Studio Code guy, but Sublime has amazing diff addons!

The timestamp of this change is GMT: Monday, April 2, 2018 6:25:36.910 PM, so it’s a rather recent change.
