Niantic Fixes Hatch Day Ticket Blunder, Issues Free Rewards, and Apologizes

Trainers, Niantic has acknowledged the mistakes that were found in the listed price and description of the Charged Embers Hatch Day Paid Timed Research ticket in the Shop yesterday.

The ticket was intended to be an enhanced experience ticket for the Charged Embers Hatch Day, granting Trainers 2x Hatch Stardust and some additional items at $0.99 USD. Unfortunately, it was listed as a $1.99 ticket, featuring a completely random set of rewards and bonuses:

Niantic messes up Hatch Day Paid Research Ticket, issues compensation

We are not sure how this happened, but the originally listed ticket had a Sandygast encounter, two Premium Battle Passes, and an Egg Incubator, at double the price. Luckily, Niantic has acknowledged this problem and issued a statement with compensation details for affected Trainers:

Trainers, there were discrepancies in the listed price and description of the Charged Embers Hatch Day Paid Timed Research ticket in the Shop. The issue has now been resolved. The ticket is now available in the Shop at $0.99, and players will receive the Timed Research and bonus as previously advertised.

Trainers who have already purchased the ticket for $1.99 will receive the following items as a free Shop bundle in the new year for the inconvenience:
– 300 Poké Coins
– 2x Premium Battle Pass
– 1x Incubator
– 1x Sandygast encounter

In addition, anybody who purchased the $1.99 ticket also received these originally intended bonuses and Timed Research rewards:
– 2x Hatch Stardust
– 1x Star Piece
– 1x Super Incubator
– 2,500 XP

Please stay tuned for more information about how this free bundle will be distributed. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
