This week has been a big week for Pokémon news! Pokémon has teamed up with the European Space Agency to tease an exciting series of events, plus the first Pokopia DLC Bubbly Basin has been released, and more!
Pokémon and European Space Agency Collaborate for World Space Week
The European Space Agency (ESA) and Pokémon are teaming up for World Space Week this year! World Space Week runs from 4th October to 10th October.
World Space Week is an international event that aims to celebrate, technology and space. It was set up by the United Nations in 1999. We hope this collaboration might just lead to that adorable astronaut Pikachu depicted in the artwork being in Pokémon GO!
The ESA shares the following on their website:

Pokémon Pokopia ‘Bubbly Basin’ DLC
The first DLC for Pokémon Pokopia, ‘Bubbly Basin’ was released on 5th August!
In this new paid expansion you’ll be able to discover Bubbly Basin, a new underwater town, using the move Dive. Use can use the move Dive, which is an underwater exploration ability added in a free software update to the Pokémon Pokopia game, to visit the aquatic area of Bubbly Basin in Part 1 of the three-part Pokémon™ Pokopia Expansion Pass DLC! You’ll find additional furniture items, new outfits for Ditto, and more Pokémon to meet.
To access Bubbly Basin’s underwater gate, you must first learn Dive and complete the important request “Raise the environment level!” in Bleak Beach. You’ll build an underwater town and meet many water-type Pokémon.
The expansion pass can be purchased now for $34.99 (or your regional equivalent). The Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass includes Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3, and is currently available for purchase on Nintendo eShop. Players who purchase this DLC will obtain recipes for dynamic Ditto print blocks and wallpaper. And if they purchase it by August 31, 2027, they will receive a serial code via email for 30 rare Pokémetal ingots. Part 2 is expected to follow in late 2026, with Part 3 arriving in 2027.
Pokémon Club Program Expands
The Pokémon Club is a program that aims to help children develop foundational life skills through playing the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) and taking part in various Pokémon-themed activities. This program was previously only available in the US and Canada, butit is now expanding access into the UK through a partnership with SUPER.

New ‘Flying High’ Pokémon Plushies
Adorable new type themed Pokémon plushies have been revealed for the Pokémon Center, for the new ‘Flying High’ collection.
The new plushies will feature Flygon and Salamence, either on their own, or with their base evolution counterparts. Flygon is lifting Trapinch into the sky, while Salamence gives Bagon a ride. So cute!
Pokémon Maze in UK
A huge 12 acre Pokémon maize maze has been created at the Skylark Garden Centre, Wimblington to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Pokémon! The maize maze attraction opens from July 24 until August 31 from 10am to 5pm every day. The Skylark Garden Centre and Funyard is described as a family destination offering tractor rides, go-karts and more. You can also picnic with Pikachu daily, and enjoy a foam party to end the day. The Pokémon maize maze takes between 45 minutes to an hour and a half to escape, so give yourself plenty of time!
