Spiritomb 2019 and Trapinch CD Quests Added

Data miners have discovered that a handful of new quests were added recently, one of them mentioning Trapinch and the rest being called “A Spooky Message 2019”, which is a clear hint at a new version of the  Spiritomb special research quest line.

As expected, the upcoming Trapinch Community Day will feature a special Field Research tasks that requires you to catch… Trapinch! This is fairly typical for CD events and has been spotted for almost every CD in the previous six or eight months.

It seems that Spiritomb is about to make a return to Pokemon GO, as a new Spooky Message quest line has appeared in the code base as well. For those of you who need a reminder, our Spiritomb quest (A Spooky Message) guide: how to get Spiritomb in Pokemon GO has all the details on the last year’s instance of this quest chain.

Similar to last year, Spooky Message 2019 is split into three quest stages, with each stage consisting of three separate quests. Last year, only the first two stages were actual quests, the last stage was auto-completed when you reached it.

Pokemon GO is clearly gearing up for the Halloween 2019 in-game celebrations. Today’s discovery fits perfectly with a couple of discoveries that were made recently and with the official content theme that’s pushed by Niantic.
