Pokémon Spotlight Hour will feature a different Pokémon and a special bonus for one hour at 6:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday during the month of February. Totodile Spotlight Hour takes place on February 24th, 2026, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm local time, with a bonus of 2x Stardust for catching Pokémon.
This Spotlight Hour is the fourth and final February 2026 Pokémon spotlight, and it is especially interesting as Totodile can be shiny.
Trainers who plan to participate should be prepared with a Mega Pokémon to maximise candy gains per Totodile caught. Here’s everything you need to know!
Totodile Spotlight Hour
Bonuses
- You will get 2x Stardust for catching Pokémon
- Shiny Totodile and its evolutions are available in Pokémon GO
Note on Stardust Bonus
Totodile is unfortunately not one of the rare Pokémon that give extra Stardust on catch, rewarding the base 100 Stardust for every successful catch.
Here’s how much Stardust you can get during Totodile Spotlight Hour in February 2026:
| Type of catch | Stardust |
|---|---|
| Regular catch | 200 |
| Weather boosted catch | 250 |
| Regular catch with Star Piece | 300 |
| Weather boosted catch with Star Piece | 375 |
The best possible scenario you can have is to catch a weather boosted Totodile with an active Star Piece. Totodile is boosted by Rainy weather. Which if you are in the UK, it seems very likely that it will be!
The only downside of this event is that Totodile is relatively difficult to catch, and you will probably want to use Great Balls or Ultra Balls during the event. Otherwise, you could be spending too much time attempting to catch, rather than just catching.
We believe that the baseline for any calculation should be 50 Totodile. You should be able to get 60 Totodile during one hour, regardless if you are using the Fast catch trick, or just catching slowly.
Here’s how much Stardust you should be able to earn during the Totodile Spotlight Hour:
| Star Piece active | Weather is Rainy | Stardust |
|---|---|---|
| ❌ No | ❌ No | 12,000 |
| ❌ No | ✅ Yes | 15,000 |
| ✅ Yes | ❌ No | 18,000 |
| ✅ Yes | ✅ Yes | 22,500 |
- 12,000 Stardust is your minimal Stardust goal. This means you caught 60 Totodile, but there was no weather boost and you did not activate a Star Piece.
- 15,000 Stardust is your minimal goal if the in-game weather is Rainy.
- 18,000 Stardust is the minimum guaranteed amount you can get. This should be easy to get if you activate two Star Pieces, regardless of in-game Weather. Star Piece increases your Stardust gain by 50%, which is an additional 6,000 Stardust over the baseline.
- and finally… 22,500 Stardust is the amount of Stardust you will get if you catch 60 Totodile, with a Star Piece active, during Rainy weather.

The following Pokémon will grant you extra bonuses when catching Totodile if they are Mega/Primal evolved:
A Note on Mega Catch Bonus
While a Pokémon is Mega-Evolved, additional XP and Candy is granted when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it, or for any raid boss caught. These do not stack with each other. Additionally, High and Max Level Mega-Evolved Pokémon grant an increased chance to obtain Candy XL when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it.
PVE
Feraligatr is a Starter Pokémon, meaning it has access to the phenomenal Hydro Cannon. Shockingly, it’s one of the least impactful Hydro Cannon users, with even Inteleon and Quaquaval poised to surpass Feraligatr with the famed Community Day move. 😨
When it can’t even contend with other Hydro Cannon users, forget about the rest of the Water-type roster. 😭 You can use it, of course, but remember that there are much better options.
⚔️ Raids
Desperate for a Hydro Cannon user because you don’t have the others? Only then consider this gator. 🌊
🛡️ Gyms
With only two weaknesses (Electric and Grass) and decent tankiness, you can put Feraligatr in Gyms. It can also throw a nasty surprise to Grass Pokémon with an Ice Beam. 😉
PVP
Feraligatr takes a lot of jabs for its disappointing PvE performance but returns with a vengeance thanks to its outrageous PvP skills. 🤯
This is all thanks to its deadly movepool, particularly with Shadow Claw, Hydro Cannon, and Ice Beam/Crunch. These tools make this gator a formidable contender in both the Great and Ultra League. 🐊
🔵 Great League
With Shadow Claw’s great coverage and energy generation, Hydro Cannon’s sheer power, and the utility of Ice Beam or Crunch, Feraligatr becomes a killing machine. 🤖
While its bulk may be a concern, its breathtaking moveset more than compensates. ✌️ A perfect Pokémon for the Great League, ladies and gentlemen! 😌
🟡 Ultra League
The terror of Feraligatr strikes again in the Ultra League, where its sheer coverage commands respect—even from Giratina! 🙇♀️🙇♂️
The Shadow variant might be even more dangerous, but regular Feraligatr is a destructive force you can invest in without hesitation! ☠️ While it may face trouble from Grass Pokémon, Ice Beam ensures it can hit back hard. 🧊
🟣 Master League
Feraligatr’s dominance might slow down in the Master League, but guess what? It’s still viable! 🤯
It can overpower some of the fiercest Master League Pokémon, including: Rhyperior, Dragonite, Xerneas, Dawn Wings Necrozma, Zacian Hero, Togekiss, Landorus Therian, and Waterfall Primarina. 😳
See what a good moveset can achieve in Pokémon GO! 😃
