Luminous Legends X Event Guide

Xerneas, the pure Fairy type Legendary Pokémon is coming soon to Pokémon GO during the Luminous Legends X event that features the debut of Xerneas alongside other Fairy and Dragon types.

Date and Time

From the official announcement:

This event will begin on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, May 17, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Trainers,

“A legend will soon illuminate our world: Xerneas, the Life Pokémon, will make its Pokémon GO debut during the Luminous Legends X event! Some Dragon- and Fairy-type Pokémon originally discovered in the Kalos region will be coming along for the journey as well, such as Spritzee, Swirlix, and Goomy! A new item will also be coming to Pokémon GO—the Rainy Lure Module, which can be used to evolve Sliggoo (the Evolution of Goomy) into Goodra. You can also evolve Sliggoo when the in-game weather is rainy.

Xerneas will make its Pokémon GO debut in five-star raids! This Fairy-type Legendary Pokémon originally discovered in the Kalos region has horns on its head that shine in seven different colors, and legends say it’s known to share everlasting life.

Spritzee, Swirlix, and Goomy will be making their Pokémon GO debuts!
Spritzee and Swirlix will be appearing more frequently in the wild alongside other Dragon- and Fairy-type Pokémon, like Dratini, Ralts, Bagon, Cottonee, and more. If you’re extremely lucky, you might find a Goomy in the wild!”

Let’s break down this announcement. Firstly, Xerneas has been officially announced as the next 5-star raid boss. This is great news for anyone looking to catch and use the strongest Fairy type Pokémon in the game as of its release.

Xerneas’ stats are as follows:

Xerneas

Stat Value
Max CP
  • 3,781 (Level 40),
  • 4,275 (Level 50)
Attack 250
Defence 185
Stamina 246

As we can see, Xerneas has serious potential in PvE and PvP making it an all-around solid Pokémon to use. You can find our guide to defeating Xerneas here: Xerneas Raid Guide.

Xerneas maxes out at a whopping 4,275 at Level 50 and has an incredibly strong Attack and Stamina stat.

Spritzee, Swirlix and Goomy are also coming soon as a celebration of this event.

These Pokémon originated from the Kalos region and will be an exciting new addition to the game, especially the fan favourite, Goomy! We published an article that details how Goodra – Goomy’s evolution – performs in the Pokémon GO meta game: Goodra Meta Analysis. Check it out!

Rainy Lure Module debuts in Pokémon GO

Alongside the introduction to these Pokémon, we are also getting a brand new item, the Rainy Lure Module, as mentioned here:

Rainy Lure Modules are coming to Pokémon GO! This Lure Module will attract certain Pokémon that like rain, such as Water-, Bug-, and Electric-type Pokémon. When you’re near a PokéStop with an active Rainy Lure Module, you can evolve Sliggoo (the Evolution of Goomy) into Goodra. You can also evolve Sliggoo when the in-game weather is rainy.

The Rainy Lure Module will be the only way to evolve Sliggoo into Goodra. Not only will Goomy be a rare encounter in the game, but it also has a different way to evolve making Goodra an impressive Pokémon to possess.
