Pokémon GO’s New Year 2024 event takes place from Monday, January 1, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. local time until Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. local time, and it features new costumed Pokémon and a return of Ultra Beasts.

Celebrate the start of the year with our New Year’s event! Keep an eye out for costumed Pokémon making their debuts, new avatar items, and the return of some familiar Pokémon wearing party hats. Let’s kick off 2024 in style!

Ultra Beasts make a return to Five-Star Raids, giving Trainers another opportunity to catch some of them:

UBs will be available in their respective regions, and globally via Remote Raids.

  • Incubator icon 1/4 Hatch Distance for the first three Eggs hatched during the event using the Pokémon GO Egg hatching widget.*

Best Mega Pokémon for the event

Your choice of Mega Pokémon will ultimately be decided by the Candy XL you want to gain during the event. We expect Trainers to go after Jigglypuff XL Candy, or one of the Ultra Beast XL Candies. Here’s a quick reminder for each of these Pokémon.
