Mega Gyarados
Mega Gyarados features in Pokémon GO during a special Raid Day event on Sunday, August 31st, 2025. Trainers can look forward to an increased chance to encounter Gyarados, up to five additional free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs, and a temporarily increased Remote Raid Pass limit.

Get your full Mega Gyarados raid counters here first and prepare! Mega Gyarados is weak to Electric Grass Fighting Bug and Fairy types, giving you a real variety in potential counters. Gyarados can be caught from 1855 CP to 1937 CP, with no weather boost, and from 2319 CP to 2422 CP with Windy and Rainy weather boost
Regular and Shiny Comparison
Like all Mega Raid Bosses, you can catch the shiny version of Gyarados from a raid, and also in the wild potentially, if you can find it! Gyarados does have a slight gender difference in both the regular and shiny sprites, with its whiskers changing colour.
