The Uncut Story of Mewtwo’s Origin (The Birth of Mewtwo) is a ten-minute anime short added to the beginning of Mewtwo Strikes Back in the movie and it was first shown on TV Tokyo on July 8, 1999, while its first home video release was on VHS on November 12, 1999.
If you are unfamiliar with Mewtwo’s origin story, it’s a must watch, especially after you notice the complex character motivation and topics like cloning, loss of child, etc…
Born from Mew’s fossile, with the help of Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur clones, but also Ambertwo, a clone of Fuji’s daughter, Mewtwo learns about life and loss. After all of the other clones die, including Ambertwo, Mewtwo’s memory is wiped clean and he’s maturing.
The entire story is continued in Mewtwo strikes back. “Am I only a copy, nothing but a shadow?”
MewTwo in Pokemon GO
You maybe in love with Mewtwo, it’s sheer and utter power, but unfortunately, he is not obtainable in Pokemon GO at the moment. Maybe it’s better that he isn’t obtainable, as he is one of the strongest Pokemon ever created, with only a couple of legendary Pokemon topping his stats.
