A new Spring loading screen has been spotted in Pokémon GO’s network traffic. The image has been data mined, which means it’s not in any way confirmed or endorsed by Niantic, but we decided to share it as it teases the arrival of new Pokémon!
Here’s the new loading screen in its full glory. It should roll out official March 16th 2021, and is a gorgeous new image to enjoy:
It is a beautiful waterfall scene, featuring several Pokémon already in game, Kricketune, Buneary, Whirlipede, Servine and Petilil, as well as some brand new faces! It is great seeing some of the middle evolutions getting a feature here, as middle evolutions often tend to be the more neglected Pokémon of the family, and Servine and Whiripede look so cute here. It is an image full of colour, with hints of pink throughout and flowers featured, hinting at new beginnings and adventures, a breath of fresh air after a stifling 2020.
There are three very obvious newbies showcased here, and one more subtle Pokémon hidden in the background. Niantic love to hide a teaser! None of these Pokémon hinted at here currently have sprites in game so it can’t go live in game until it is added, but Niantic could sneak those sprites in any time!
At the top of the waterfall we see the Fairy type Legendary Pokémon Xerneas from Generation 6. We anticipate that Xerneas will debut in raids, and it is sure to be a popular raid boss. We talk about Xerneas in this moveset analysis article here, so you know what to expect from this stunning Pokémon.
XerneasIn the foreground we see Pancham climbing the fallen tree trunk, and Aromatisse, the evolved version of Spritzee, on top of the tree trunk.
PanchamPancham is an adorable Generation 6 Fighting type, that evolves into Pangoro for 50 candies. Pangoro becomes a dual type Fighting and Dark type.
AromatisseAromatisse is the evolved form of Spritzee. It is a Fairy from Generation 6 and costs 50 candy to evolve to.
More hidden away in the background, we have a teaser many Pokémon fans are really excited for, the final Eeveelution, Sylveon.
SylveonSylveon is a pure Fairy type from Generation 6, and we do not know yet how it will evolve from Eevee. It may require an evolution item or some other specific action in order to evolve, but we won’t know more until it is in game. For a full meta analysis on Sylveon check out this article by babygengar.
With this new loading screen we will hopefully see another new wave of Kalos region Pokémon some time soon. Hype! Have you spotted anything we’ve missed? Let us know in the comments below!
