Shiny Shieldon

Shiny Shieldon can be quite subtle. It’s body becomes a brighter yellow and its head is a dark blue.

Regular Shiny
Shieldon Shieldon is a small, yellow, ceratopsian-like reptilian Pokémon. It has white toes and a white bump on its back. Shieldon has a dark-gray elliptical face, with a prominent white brow and a white rim on its black snout Shiny Shieldon's body becomes a brighter yellow and its head is a dark blue.
Bastiodon Bastiodon is a Pokémon which appears to be a cross between a ceratopsian such as Chasmosaurus and a bulldozer. Its dark gray, square head resembles a castle wall, complete with four cream-yellow, window-like spots with a black outline, three dark gray spikes on the top, and two larger gray spikes in the upper corners. Bastiodon's triangular nose extends from the middle of its shield-like head down over its lips and appears to be pierced by a gray, horizontal spike. Four spikes jut downward and four large, blunt tusks protrude upward from its dark gray lower jaw. Bastiodon's cream-yellow eyes are partially obscured by the nasal spike and spaced-out tusks. Its thick, cream-yellow body is further protected by a gray ridge and dark gray plates on its back, jagged growths on its legs, and a plated tail. Shiny Bastiodon has dark blue head and legs and its body is a brighter yellow.

Mega Pokémon that boost Shieldon

The following Pokémon will grant you extra bonuses when catching Shieldon if they are Mega/Primal evolved:

A Note on Mega Catch Bonus

While a Pokémon is Mega-Evolved, additional XP and Candy is granted when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it, or for any raid boss caught. These do not stack with each other. Additionally, High and Max Level Mega-Evolved Pokémon grant an increased chance to obtain Candy XL when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it.

Is it worth evolving Shieldon?

PVP

🔵 Great League

Bastiodon behaves like two opposite ends of the spectrum in the Great League. On one hand, its gargantuan DEF makes it a legitimate wall, sponging hits like they’re nothing. Backed with the hard-hitting Smack Down, it can plough down some of the strongest opponents, including Azumarill, Shadow Drapion, Lapras, Dusclops, Serperior, Guzzlord, and Galarian Weezing. 😎

On the other hand, its double weakness to Fighting and Ground, as well as single weakness to Water… all prominent PvP types make Bastiodon fumble against these matchups. 🥲

Overall, it’s a scary Pokémon to face and a completely worthy investment for the Great League. 🙌

Bastiodon’s stats are too low for the Ultra and Master League. Use it only in the Great League.

💎 Bastiodon’s best attacks for PvP are Smack Down, Stone Edge and Flamethrower.

PVE

Bastiodon may be a defensive behemoth but its ATK stat is terrible, not even reaching 100. 😬 So forget about using it in Raids!

While it theoretically looks good for Gym defense, Bastiodon’s Rock/Steel typing makes it double weak to Fighting and Ground type attacks. So, an attacking Machamp or Lucario is going to finish it off effortlessly. As such, this tank of a Pokémon isn’t viable in any form of PvE battle.
