Shuppet and Banette

 Kecleon Duskull and Dusclops

Pokémon GO Banette has Max CP 2073 and evolves from Shuppet (50 Candy cost). Banette and Shuppet are ghost type, also known as the “Puppet Pokémon” and the “Marionette Pokémon”.

Banette has a max CP of 2073, making it the second highest CP among its Ghost type brethren (Gen I – III).  With access to the fabled Shadow Claw quick move, Banette it a superb mid tier Ghost-typed glass cannon. Use it in Alakazam and Gengar raids.

Stat wise, Banette has strong Attack (218), low Stamina (128) and low Defense (127) — just in line with other ghost Pokémon. Shuppet and Banette were among the first Gen III Pokémon to be released during the Halloween 2017 event.

Banette in Pokémon GO

For all intents and purposes, Banette is a less powerful Gengar, especially if you manage to get a Banette with Shadow Claw / Shadow Ball moveset. Banette can deal a surprising amount of damage, especially against opponents where its type advantage plays a role.

Banette’s Shadow Claw / Shadow Ball moveset is a beautiful combination of high quick move DPS and a strong two bar charge move. It’s the same moveset that was once available for Gengar, but was since removed.

Banette has access to a varied move pool, mostly filled with Ghost moves and, luckily, including the fabled Shadow Claw — a super quick, high DPS ghost quick move.

The overall best Banette moveset is considered to be Shadow Claw / Shadow Ball, a dual ghost moveset reminiscent of Gengar’s same legacy moveset. Banette can deal serious amount of damage, but remember to dodge a lot.
