Event Guide

Niantic’s first Generation 6 event is the perfect opportunity to collect and evolve Kalos region’s starter Pokémon:

As outlined in our Generation 6 Moves: Biggest Winners and Losers (PvE) guide, none of the Kalos starters has access to their strongest move set – yet. Catching them at this time is a good opportunity to stock up on Candy and strong IVs ahead of Community Day events.

As far as other featured Pokémon, Noibat is expected to be rather rare in the long run, so it makes sense to stock up on Candy and XL Candy there as well. We don’t have high hopes for Espurr, nor its evolution Meowstic, in terms of meta placement.

We’re fairly disappointed that there are no additional bonuses during this event, but we do hope that Timed and Field Research will compensate for that. We will be updating this guide as more information becomes available.
