Trainers! May brings with it an exciting raid day with the debut of a brand new Pokémon, Kleavor, the Axe Pokémon. Kleavor is an ancient evolution of Scyther, first discovered in the Hisui region in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
Kleavor Raid Day is a special in-game event that takes place on May 6th, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm local time. During that time window, Kleavor will debut in Pokémon GO, appearing more frequently in 3-star Raids.
You will have an increased chance of encountering Shiny Kleavor, Remote Raid Pass limit will be increased to 10, and you can earn up to 5 additional free Raid Passes.

Kleavor Raid debut
Kleavor will make their debut in Pokémon GO! Currently the only way to obtain Kleavor will be via raids, and you will not be able to evolve Scyther into Kleavor currently.
We have previously speculated about the usefulness of Kleavor, it depends on what moveset it ultimately gets, but it is unlikely to be of much use in PvE. It may work as a spice pick in Ultra League!
Kleavor’s Pokédex entry in Pokémon Legends: Arceus is: ‘A violent creature that fells towering trees with its crude axes and shields itself with hard stone. If one should chance upon this Pokémon in the wilds, one’s only recourse is to flee.’
Shiny Kleavor
Kleavor will make their debut with their shiny version available in Pokémon GO. It changes from a pale yellow and brown, to their body being green.
