As 2022 draws to a close, and a new year is about to begin, a special event takes place in Pokémon GO! Celebrate the new year with new costume Pokémon, new avatar items and pose, thematic Wild and Egg encounters, and much, much more!

1/2 hatch distance for any eggs incubated during the event

1/4 hatch distance for the first three eggs incubated during the event using the Pokémon GO Egg Widget*

Costumed Pokémon
During the Pokémon GO New Years 2023 event costumed versions of regular Pokémon will be appearing. Pikachu wearing a top party hat will make their debut, and you’ll be able to evolve your Hoothoot wearing a New Year’s Eve outfit into Noctowl for the first time.

You’ll also be able to get special event stickers by spinning Pokéstops, opening gifts and purchasing them from the shop.
