Dive into an action-packed week in Pokémon GO starting June 24th. The Season of Shared Skies well underway and, it’s an action-packed week!
Highlights:
- The Scorching Steps event releases shiny Larvesta, with special egg hatching bonuses.
- Celebrate 8 years of Pokémon GO with Grimer in a party hat during the 8th Anniversary event.
- Mega Rayquaza returns in Elite Raids on 29th June!
- Battle enthusiasts can gear up for the GO Battle League Season 19, while raiders prepare for epic confrontations with Yveltal, and Mega Charizard Y in Mega Raids!
- And keep your eyes peeled for the elusive Shiny Shadow Raikou! There’s a plethora of adventures waiting, so trainers, gear up and set out!
Larvesta
Shiny Larvesta makes their debut in the Scorching Steps event, with 1/2 hatch distance bonus for eggs incubated during the event! Taking place from June 21st, to June 25th.
Celebrate 8 years of Pokémon GO with the 8th Anniversary Event! Grimer gets their party gear on, shiny Meltan returns, and a new special research that rewards shiny Celebi will be available for trainers who don’t have a shiny Celebi.
Rayquaza (Mega)
Mega Rayquaza returns in Elite Raids for a special event on 29th June, 2024. Free timed research will be available to help you earn Meteorites, which are needed for Rayquaza to mega evolve.
During each month of Pokémon GO: Shared Skies, Trainers will receive free monthly Timed Research! Be sure to regularly check the in-game Events tab for details. Check out part one of the Research here.
GO Battle League: Shared Skies will start on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. PST (GMT −8).
The following will occur at the beginning of the Season.
- End-of-Season rewards will be available on the battle screen.
- Your GO Battle League rank will be reset.
- Rank-up requirements will remain the same as the prior Season.

Tuesday June 18th, 6 pm till 7 pm local time we have Morelull as the featured Pokémon for spotlight hour, along with 2x Stardust for catching Pokémon!

Shadow Raids
Raikou (Shadow)One-star and three-star Shadow Raids will be available daily, while five-star Shadow Raids will take place on Saturdays and Sundays unless otherwise noted. Also, Shadow Raikou will swoop into five-star Shadow Raids during Shared Skies!
You may even encounter a Shiny Shadow Raikou—if you’re lucky!
The following bonuses are specific to Shared Skies:
- One additional Special Trade per day.
- Trainers level 31 and above will have a higher chance to receive Candy XL from exploring with their buddy.
- Increased XP for the first catch of the day.
- From June 1, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT -7) to September 3, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.
PDT (GMT -7) - Complete Field Research tasks during the whole season to earn an encounter from a pool of Pokémon, including Hisuian Growlithe, Furfrou, Audino, Larvitar, Jangmo-o and Axew.
**Jangmo-O can be shiny after the Global GO Fest event.
Season of Shared Skies Field Research Tasks
Field Research tasks that previously rotated on a monthly basis will now rotate Seasonally. Field Research tasks that award an encounter with Spinda will still rotate monthly. For a full list of the season field research tasks check out our list here.
