Coming this week in Pokémon GO, commencing 3rd July, we have the 7th anniversary event celebrations as Pokémon GO turns 7, Squirtle Community Day Classic, the Kanto Legendary birds in raids and more!

7th Anniversary Event

From July 6, 2023 10:00am to July 12, 2023 8:00pm local time we are celebrating 7 years of Pokémon GO! More information coming as soon as we have it!


Squirtle Community Day Classic

On July 9, 2023 2:00pm to 5:00pm local time Squirtle Squad is back for the Squirtle Community Day Classic! The Squirtle wearing sunglasses will be available in field research tasks, and eggs will be a 1/4 hatch distance for the event.


GO Battle League Season 15

GO Battle League: Hidden Gems will start on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. PT.

The following will occur at the beginning of the Season.

  • End-of-Season rewards will be available on the battle screen.
  • Your GO Battle League rank will be reset.
  • Rank-up requirements will remain the same as the prior Season.
June 30 – July 7
  • 🟣 Master League Premier*
  • 🔵 Single-type Cup: Great League Edition*
July 7 – July 14
  • 🟣 Master League*
  • 🔵 Retro Cup: Great League Edition*

(*) 3x Stardust from win rewards (this does not include end of set rewards)

Rufflet

Tuesday July 4th 6pm till 7pm local time we have Rufflet as the featured Pokémon for spotlight hour, along with a 2× Stardust for catching Pokémon.

Wednesday July 5th 6pm till 7pm local time Heatran will appear in five-star raids.

Mega Raids

Sableye (Mega)

From June 29 to July 6 Mega Sableye will make their debut in Mega Raids.

Blastoise (Mega)

From July 6 to July 13 Mega Blastoise will appear in Mega Raids.

Five Star Raids

Heatran

From June 29 to July 6 Heatran will appear in five-star raids and it can be shiny.

From July 6 to July 13 Articuno, Moltres and Zapdos will appear in five-star raids. They can be shiny.


Season of Hidden Gems

The following bonuses are specific to Season 11: Hidden Gems.

  • Trade icon One additional special trade per day
  • Trade icon One additional Pokémon candy when trading
  • Trade icon For trainers level 31 and above, one guaranteed XL Candy when trading

Field Research

Season of Hidden Gems Research Breakthrough

  • From June 1, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT -7) to September 1, 2023, at 1:00 p.m.
    PDT (GMT -7)
  • Complete Field Research tasks during the whole season to earn an encounter from a pool of Pokémon, including Sableye, Beldum, Audino, Furfrou, Noibat and Goomy.

Season of Hidden Gems Field Research Tasks

Starting this Season, Field Research tasks that previously rotated on a monthly basis will now rotate Seasonally. Field Research tasks that award an encounter with Spinda will still rotate monthly. For a full list of the season field research tasks check out our list here.
