Max Out Season Speculation: Galar Focus?

With the name for next season seemingly leaked, hints at Dynamax and Morpeko on social media, and even a Ponyta Community Day teased with Galarian Ponyta, could the next season, Max Out, be Galar focused? Let’s take a look at some of the Pokémon we hope to see released in the coming months.

Remember, this is all pure speculation, hopefully we get some information for the new season in the coming weeks!

Galar Starter Pokémon

I’m sure most Pokémon GO trainers will agree, it’s about time the Galar First Partner Pokémon (or Starter Pokémon), were finally in GO! They are the only starters not currently in GO, and have felt really left out considering even the Paldean starters have debuted. I hope they’ll be in an early wave of releases, and finally get the celebration they deserve.

Here be Dragons?

When the Paldean region saw their initial release, Frigibax was included, so could Dreepy be the same with a Galar debut? The Dreepy are Dragon and Ghost type Pokémon, and real fan favourites from the region. The family are quite interesting in their design, with features resembling salamanders. Hilariously, Dragapult also launches Dreepy from the cannons on their heads as part of their attack mechanism.

Route One Spawns

Some of the early spawns from Pokémon Sword and Shield from Route One seem like an easy choice for some new additions as common spawns. We already have Skwovet and Wooloo, so could some of the other Route One spawns follow? Rookidee, Blipbug and Nickit would be fun options. Corviknight and Orbeetle both have Gigantamax forms, but Thievul des not. These early spawns all have some fantastic designs, with the Rookidee family taking inspiration from corvids and chess pieces. The Blipbug family are alien inspired beetles, Orbeetle in particular has such a good Gigantamax form. Nickit and Thievul are a true British classic, we have red foxes living in our cities and towns, scavenging for food, tipping over bins, just trying to survive when we have taken over their natural habitats.

Potential Shiny Releases

As some Galarian Pokémon have been in the game for a little while now, could we get the odd shiny release? Wooloo, Skwovet and Falinks were all in the initial Galar launch, so seem like the most obvious choices for an early shiny releases. While Zacian and Zamazenta were also released at the same time, as the box art Legendaries for the Galar region, they feel a lot less likely to have a shiny release any time soon.

Other Potential Debut Pokémon

Some other pokemon I feel we could potentially see debut soon are Chewtle and Yamper. Chewtle has featured quite prominently in both Sword and Shield, and Scarlet and Violet as common spawns. Yamper has become a much loved Pokémon from Galar, in part due to being a reference to the late Queen Elizabeth II’s pet Corgi dogs.

Halloween Pokémon

And finally, Halloween will be in the new Max Out season, so could we see some new Ghost types from the Galar region? Sinistea and Polteageist are major fan favourites, and could be such a cute addition for Halloween, a haunted teacup and teapot?! Amazing! Galarian Corsola is also one of the few Galarian forms of existing Pokémon we haven’t seen yet in game, and it also gains a new evolution, Cursola. Galarian Corsola and Cursola are a tragic Pokémon family, based on bleached, damaged coral due to climate change and human destruction of the ocean. Galarian Corsola could potentially work for one of the pre-announced raid days in order to keep the previously region exclusive Corsola more limited and exclusive.

Conclusion

There are SO many other Pokémon that could debut from the Galar region, and remember, this is pure speculation! Which Pokémon do you hope to see debut from Gen VIII? Let us know on social media!
