Coming this week in Pokémon GO, commencing 14th August we have the end of the Worlds event, Pokémon GO Fest New York, the Noxious Swamp event, and more!
Pokémon GO World Championships Event
The Pokémon World Championships Celebration in Pokémon GO runs from Friday, August 11, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
Passimian, shiny Scraggy, and a new World Championship 2023 Pikachu will make their Pokémon GO debut. Select Pokémon will be able to learn new attacks if evolved during the event.
There will also be special timed research available from watching the Livestreams of Worlds.

Pokémon GO Fest 2023: New York City
From August 18 to August 20 Pokémon GO Fest New York City takes place! Shiny Golett and Skrelp will be available for the first time.
Noxious Swamp Event
From August 19, 2023, from 10:00 am to August 22 at 8:00 pm local time the first ever Noxious Swamp event occurs. We suspect this will focus on the release of shiny Skrelp worldwide, and the Poison Swamp habitat, much like the Glittering Garden event celebrated shiny Petilil’s release. We’ll share more information as soon as we have it!

GO Battle League Season 15
GO Battle League: Hidden Gems will start on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. PT.
The following will occur at the beginning of the Season.
- End-of-Season rewards will be available on the battle screen.
- Your GO Battle League rank will be reset.
- Rank-up requirements will remain the same as the prior Season.

Tuesday August 15th 6pm till 7pm local time we have Stufful as the featured Pokémon for spotlight hour, along with 2x XP for catching Pokémon.

Wednesday August 16th 6pm till 7pm local time Xerneas will appear in five-star raids.
Mega Raids
Gyarados (Mega)
From August 4 to August 16 Mega Gyarados will appear in Mega Raids.
Salamence (Mega)
From August 16 to August 23, and then from August 27 to September 1, Mega Salamence will appear in Mega Raids.
Five Star Raids
Cresselia
From August 4 to August 16 Cresselia will appear in five-star raids. It can be shiny.
From August 16 to August 23 and then from August 27 to September 1, Xerneas and Yveltal will appear in five-star raids. They can be shiny! Xerneas caught during this time period will learn Geomancy and Yveltal will learn Oblivion Wing.

Season of Hidden Gems Research Breakthrough
- From June 1, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT -7) to September 1, 2023, at 1:00 p.m.
PDT (GMT -7) - Complete Field Research tasks during the whole season to earn an encounter from a pool of Pokémon, including Sableye, Beldum, Audino, Furfrou, Noibat and Goomy.
Season of Hidden Gems Field Research Tasks
Starting this Season, Field Research tasks that previously rotated on a monthly basis will now rotate Seasonally. Field Research tasks that award an encounter with Spinda will still rotate monthly. For a full list of the season field research tasks check out our list here.
