Coming this week in Pokémon GO, commencing 23rd May we have the Alola to Alola event, and the Mega Stardust Surprise GO Battle Day!

Alola to Alola Event

From Wednesday, May 25, 2022, to Tuesday, May 31, 2022, celebrate and look back at all the adventures Trainers have had this year with Pokémon found in Alola, in the Alola to Alola Event! Trainers can embark on a branching Special Research story that offers different tasks and rewards based on the path you choose, each based upon one of the Alola Islands.

The following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild:

GO Battle Day: Mega Stardust Surprise

Sunday, May 29, 2022, from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. local time

A GO Battle Day featuring the standard Stardust bonuses. We may also have a Mega surprise in store for you!

The maximum number of sets you can play per day will be increased from five to 20, for a total of 100 battles!


  • 4× Stardust from win rewards.
  • A Mega Surprise!

End-of-Set Avatar Rewards

Trainers who complete a set at any rank during this GO Battle Day will receive the Gladion’s Pants avatar item!

Trainers who have already received Gladion Pants from the rank 20 rewards will not receive another pair.

Active Cups

The following leagues will be active:

Ula’ula Island Special Research

Available to collect from April 12, 2022, to June 1, 2022

Throughout the Season, you’ll be able to complete different Special Research lines to learn about each of the islands in Alola. These Special Research lines will be available to collect until the Season ends on June 1!*

If you complete them by June 1, 2022, you’ll unlock a bonus Special Research line at the end of the Season.

*These Special Research lines will be available to collect beginning at 10:00 a.m. local time on specified dates and ending on June 1, 2022, at 9:59 a.m. You can finish a research line anytime after you receive it.

Interlude Season GO Battle League

The GO Battle League’s Interlude Season will start on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. PST (GMT –8) and end on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT –8).

May 17 – May 24

3× Stardust from win rewards (this does not include end of set rewards)

May 24 – Jun 1

Spotlight Hour


Tuesday 24th May 6pm till 7pm local time we have Seel as the featured Pokémon for spotlight hour, along with a 2x stardust for catching Pokémon.

Raid Hour

Wednesday 25th May 6pm till 7pm local time Tapu Bulu, Tapu Fini, Tapu Lele and Tapu Koko will be appearing in 5-star raids for raid hour.

May Research Breakthrough Encounters

From Sunday, May 1, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. to Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7) Alolan Grimer will be the featured research breakthrough encounter. If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one!

Mega Raids

Blastoise (Mega)

From Tuesday, May 10, 2022, to Wednesday, May 25, 2022 Mega Blastoise will be appearing in Mega Raids.

Altaria (Mega)

From Wednesday, May 25, 2022, to Wednesday, June 1, 2022 Mega Altaria will be appearing in Mega Raids.

Five Star Raids

Tapu Fini

From Tuesday, May 10, 2022, to Wednesday, May 25, 2022 Tapu Fini will be featuring in 5-star raids.

From Wednesday, May 25, 2022, to Wednesday, June 1, 2022: Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, Tapu Bulu and Tapu Fini will all be appearing in 5-star raids.

Shadow Latias Captured by Giovanni


Giovanni never rests on his laurels. The Boss is back—and he’s got Shadow Latias in tow! A new Special Research story will be available at the beginning of this event. Progress through it to receive a Super Rocket Radar, and chase down Giovanni!

Season of Alola

Seasonal Bonuses

During the Season of Alola, the following bonuses will be active:

  • Increased Incense effectiveness while moving
  • Increased damage for Pokémon participating in raids remotely
  • Guaranteed Gifts from PokéStop spins
  • Up to two free Raid Passes per day by spinning Gym Photo Discs
  • Incense will last for 90 minutes

Different Pokémon will be appearing in the wild! As the Season changes, different Pokémon will be appearing in different areas across the world!
