Pokémon GO’s Catching Some Z’s event introduces Komala to the game, makes Regieleki available in 5-Star Raids, and debuts a nightcap wearing Snorlax to celebrate the upcoming release of Pokémon GO Plus +.
This delightfully dreamy event runs from Saturday, July 15th, 2023, 10:00AM to Sunday, July 16th, 2023, 8:00PM local time, and features some of the sleepiest Pokémon ever.
Date & Time
Pokémon Debuts
Komala, the Drowsing Pokémon, will make its Pokémon GO debut!
Komala is a Normal type Pokémon first discovered in the Alola Region, and has a pretty wild backstory. Komala stays asleep from birth to death, because it eats certain leaves that contain poison that Komala can break down, but the effect is that it induces sedation.
It is able to eat, travel, and even battle without waking up. Komala’s saliva can be watered down and used as anaesthetic or a sleep medicine. Do not remove Komala’s log, as it will make Komala trash wildly and unable to sleep well.
Special Research
Snorlax wearing a nightcap will also make its Pokémon GO debut! You can complete Special Research tasks to encounter it! Trainers must link their Pokémon GO Plus + device in the in-game settings to unlock a new exclusive Special Research* story.
After you pair the Pokémon GO Plus + with Pokémon GO, you’ll be able to take on Special Research that leads to an encounter with Snorlax wearing a nightcap! This Snorlax looks like it’ll sleep so soundly—we hope catching it makes your own naps even nicer!
*This Special Research will continue to be available and can be claimed after the Catching Some Z’s event ends.
