Event Trailer
Pokémon GO’s Community Managers recently answered a number of pressing questions from players about Eternatus, Crowned Sword Zacian, Crowned Shield Zamazenta, and the upcoming GO Fest 2025 Max Finale and Dark Skies events. Here’s a clean and organized summary of everything you need to know, directly from the source.
🟣 Will Eternatus be available in the free version of the GO Fest 2025 Pass?
Yes. Eternatus will be available to all Trainers through the free track of the GO Fest Max Finale event. It may require some grinding, but the pass becomes active starting August 18, giving players nearly a full week to earn progress before the weekend finale.
🧬 Trainers will only be able to own one Eternatus, regardless of which Pass they have.
💡 Pro Tip: Take advantage of increased Max Power (MP) gains and Power Spot MP grants to speed up your progress!
⚔️ Will Eternatus be usable in Max Battles, like Zacian and Zamazenta?
Absolutely. Eternatus is the creator of Dynamax and will be fully compatible with Max Battles.
💠 Can we transform Eternatus into Eternamax Eternatus?
No. While Eternamax Eternatus will appear in Power Spot battles, you cannot own that form. Players will only be able to catch and keep standard Eternatus, which is already among the strongest Pokémon in the game in terms of base stats.
🎮 This mirrors its behavior in the Sword and Shield main series games, where Eternamax was also not obtainable by players.
🔄 Can Eternatus be traded or transferred?
No. Eternatus cannot be traded or transferred, due to its unique status. While it’s not technically a Mythical Pokémon, it will be treated similarly.
🧬 Trainers will only be able to own one Eternatus, so choose wisely and consider using Hyper Training in the future to improve it.
💎 What’s the price of the Max Finale Deluxe Pass?
$14.99 (USD) or your local equivalent. Full full information we have a dedicated article. It includes:
- Tiered rewards
- Increased shiny rates for all Dynamax encounters
- The guaranteed Eternatus encounter is on the free track only
- Major candy gains for Eternatus
🏆 Even if you stick with the free version, you’ll still get a chance to catch Eternatus.
🛡️ When can we get Zacian’s and Zamazenta’s Crowned Energy?
The Crowned Energy needed for Crowned Zacian and Crowned Zamazenta will be available during Special Raid Hours:
- Thursday, August 21, 6–7 PM local time
- Friday, August 22, 6–7 PM local time
💥 Defeat the Crowned forms in raids during these windows to obtain the Supreme (Crowned) Energy.
Additionally, both Crowned Zacian and Zamazenta will appear in 5-Star Raids during the Max Finale weekend.
